Rep Babajimi Adegoke Benson, Chairman House Committee on Defence, at the Lower Chamber of National Assembly, on Saturday repeated his monthly gesture, by distributing food items through iCARE Foodbank, to over 500 aged and vulnerable persons across Ikorodu federal Constituency.

The erudite lawmaker, who noted that he's always happy to see smiles amidst pains on the faces of the aged while speaking with MegaXpression Media, said that's the purpose of quality representation.

“This monthly gesture of iCARE Foodbank is beyond giving food items to the needy, it's equally to personally convey the much needed complimentary message of hope and assurances that representation must pass to the people at a very trying moment. "It is to let my Constituents know that we truly cares," he said.

JB, as he's fondly called, was equally honored with Outstanding/Merit Award by the Lagos East Senatorial Youths, under the leadership of Alhaji Bashir Adekoya, as the best MHR in Lagos East on youth development in the year 2020. Adekoya said JB have made name for himself in the Lagos East through his quality representation.

Speaking at the event, Member of Governor's Advisory Council, GAC, and the former SSG, Lagos State, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, applauded Rep. Babajimi Benson, for the unflinching love and care he has for his Constituents, noting that his kind gesture will not be forgotten in a hurry.

Basorun, therefore enjoined the youths of Ikorodu Division to be hardworking, focus, and desist from any unlawful activities for better society. He admonished them to make haste but slowly, noting that Rep. Benson, Hon. Agunbiade, Hon. Sholaja-Saka, among others, were started and giving chance as a youth.

Basorun thereafter urged all to keep praying for Rep. Benson and members of iCARE family. "We should work hand in hand to make All Progressives Congress, APC, wax stronger and higher for the betterment of all," he added.

Also, the for Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, equally appreciated the uncommon gesture of Rep. Babajimi Benson, noting that he has been executing the work of both executive and legislator. "I urged all our Councils Chairmen in Ikorodu Division to emulate the good act of Rep. Benson, because he have been doing wonderfully and exceedingly great, even beyond what he ought to do,' Ogunlewe said.

In the same vein, member of Lagos Seventh Assembly and former Ag. Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, thanked Rep. Babajimi Benson in her eloquent remarks, noting that the iCARE Foodbank had been in existence six years ago and the monthly food package programme 'Apo-Aanu' have been ever consistent.

"Aside from the monthly foodbank packages, JB have equally helped in rehabilitation of roads, reconstruction of schools, health centres and many others," Akinsola added.

Among those that witnessed the monthly food distribution were House of Assembly Member, representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka, APC Chieftains, Councils Chairmen of Igbogbo/Bayeku and Ijede LCDAs, Builder Olusesan Daini, Alhaji Fatiu Salisu, DG Lagos State Sports Commission, Prince Tiyin Gafaar Bolowotan, Councils Vice Chairmen, Councillors, Supervisory Councillors, APC Stewards, political office seekers, religious groups and leaders of CDAs.
