LG ELECTIONS: MATHEW ADESANYA FLAGS OFF CAMPAIGN, UNVEILS PLANS FOR BETTERMENT OF IKORODU NORTH LCDA. ...Reveals 'MERCY Agenda' to rescue, develop LCDA.
An APC Chairmanship Aspirant in the forthcoming Local Government Elections, Mr Mathew Aliu Adesanya, has flagged off his campaign for the Chairmanship seat of Ikorodu North LCDA.
At a rally in Odogunyan, Ikorodu, Mathew said it is time for a leadership that is concerned about taking on the LCDA's toughest challenges and winning the battle for development and better living condition for the people of Ikorodu North.
"I seek the chairmanship position based on my personal conviction that I have a record of service to the people of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area. Thrice, I have been entrusted with important offices in this LCDA, first as a Councilor, then the Secretary to the local government (SLG) and later Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman. All the above listed assignments have given me unique preparatory for the job," Mathew said.
He further stated, "In the past, I facilitated the first tarred road Odogunyan (Ojuemuren Road) and I am still facilitating repair of several road till date within the LCDA. I facilitated storey buildings in Odogunyan Secondary School. I championed advocacy and coordination of security matters in Ikorodu North and its environs, and I am still doing this to save life and property through the formation of YAGO security outfit and affiliation with Onyabo Vigilante group. I am still leading the security outfit and advocating on security matters till date. I assisted several youths in Ikorodu to gain employments in both public and private organizations.
"Similarly, I have assisted with several health matters, including direct payment of surgeries for indigent constituents. I have always been at the forefront of protecting the interest of Ikorodu North LCDA and it's people. I have experience where it counts right here in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area. I am proud of my record, I will offer ideas for our ever changing local government. There is so much work to be done,and I am ready to lead a team of progressive minded people among you, who will deliver on the promises we are making. We will not just talk, we will lead, we will not just lead but will work.
"To the this end, I inform you all today that we are ready to rescue and develop the local government with our "MERCY agenda" by Mercy we mean;
M- Massive development
E- Elimination of poverty
R- Reconstruction of delapidated structures
C- Creation of Wealth
Y- Yielding of democratic dividends
"Working together with you, we will ensure the rehabilitation of existing schools, roads, libraries, boreholes, drainages, refuse dumps,and other infrastructures and facilitate the emergency of new ones where necessary. It is our plan to also design a mechanism to support students in their academic career. This is to ensure that our learners are encouraged to give their best at all times," Mathew explained.
He promised to ensure a very effective security structure that will salvage the present security threat, creating a climate that encourages businesses and entrepreneurs to follow their ingenuity and invest in their ideas.
"Our market men and women, artisans and others like them shall enjoy financial aide that will support their business. While we shall be subtle in our revenue generation, a meaningful revenue generation mechanism will be put in place and appropriate shall always be within the ambit of law.
"Ours will be leadership that measures balances that needs of every neighborhood, of every person in determining policies and projects. To lead this council, as its next chairman, I will work tirelessly with Community Development Association (CDAs) through the Community Development Committee ( CDA). Synergizing to build virile and progressive communities.
"I will enhance mural cooperation and understanding with our traditional institutions and other community leaders. Let me say that again, emphatically, this is where I grew and where I got married,where I went to schools and where my kids attend Schools today," he added.
Also, while addressing the mamorth crowd, Ikorodu Central Chairmanship aspirant, Hon. Azeez Jimoh Olosugbo, enjoined the people of Ikorodu North to support Mathew Adesanya, in taking the LCDA to the promise Land, noting that the there would be massive economic development in Mathew if voted into power. "Hon. Mathew Aliu Adesanya is not only going to change Ikorodu North but he's going to change it for better," Olosugbo assured.
The Baale of Magodo, Chief Falola in his good will message said, Matthew is an obedient and cheerful giver and urged all to come out in large number and vote for him in the APC primaries.
Also, CDAs, Christian and Muslim communities were all equally threw weight behind Him Mathew in becoming the next Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA.
