The Conference of Igbogbo Indigenes in the Public Service were on Saturday, August 21, donated 30KVA Generator to the Palace of Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.
The President of the Group, Engr. Gbenga Ogunlewe, presenting the 30KVA Generator to HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali.
According to the President of the Group, Engr. Gbenga Ogunlewe, while responding to MegaXpression Media, said the gesture is in a bid to ensure an uninterrupted power supply in the Palace of Adeboruwa Kingdom.
Ogunlewe said the Group has high regard for the exalted throne of Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, and expressed that, "Oba AbdulSemiu Kasali, as a first Class Monarch and the Custodian of our heritage, deserves to be treated with every sense of dignity."
The President assured Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom that they will continually ensure that Igbogbo Community have the best in terms of development. He laid emphasis that their next gesture would be at motherless babies home, Streets lighting, amongst other plans.
Ogunlewe however enjoined other members in the public and private sectors to come together and synergize to improve the Infrastructures and make Igbogbo Kingdom a home for all.
In the same vein, the Secretary of the Group, Mr Hameed Oluwaseun Sholanke, said the group started almost ten years ago with the aim of giving back to Igbogbo community, while this gesture would be the first project. "Apart from this 30KVA Generator, we have single handedly relocated the electric pole from the back of the Palace to the Generator's house and connect with NEPA pole," Sholanke explained.
While responding to the uncommon gesture, the Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, High Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, applauded the Conference of Igbogbo Indigenes in Public Service for their laudable gesture, noting that the Adeboruwa-in-Council is very delighted.
"This gesture is an example to other Igbogbo Indigenes, and for them to come together, irrespective of who they are, and contribute their own quota to the growth and development of Igbogbo Kingdom," Odofin said.
In his royal remarks, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, expressed delight about the gesture from Conference of Igbogbo Indigenes in Public Service, and prayed for their successes in their various endeavors.
"I am really impressed with this noble gesture, and I pray this won't be the end. There are still lots of things that are yet to be done in Igbogbo, but I pray that may Almighty Allah continue to help us in achieving best for our dear Igbogbo Community," Oba Kasali prayed.
