His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, praying for Igbogbo community on 2021 Isese Day.
The front space of Adeboruwa Palace was full to capacity on Friday, August 20, when the traditional worshippers of various Orisa (deities) converged to mark 2021 Isese Festival, MegaXpression Media was there.
This year's Isese Festival did not go without drawing people’s attention to its significance, acknowledging and honouring the Yoruba Orisa as (deities) and ancestors.
Holding this year edition in a grand style in collaboration with the Adeboruwa-in -Council, the traditional religion Worshipers regarded the festival as Odun Nla (Big festival.) They were happy to demonstrate their religious faith. The major highlight of this year's festival was the invocation to all divinities (Apebo) and prayer (Iwure) for the people of Igbogbo Kingdom, Ikorodu Division, and the government of Lagos State.
In his royal remarks, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, reiterated his reign's commitment to equal opportunities for all religions. He advised the Lagos State government on policies related to the practice of traditional religion and to promote advocacy and dialogue on the development of traditional religion and inter faith synergy with adherents of other religions, pleading with them to declare August 20 as public holiday in Lagos State.
Earlier, High Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, the Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, in his address summarised the essence of the festival when he said: “Today, history is once again being made in our dear community as we mark the 2021 Isese festival.”
Odofin enjoined all the traditional worshipers in Igbogbo Kingdom to be more devoted in their ways of practicing the religion, asking them to at all time, seek Adeboruwa's consent before embarking on any celebration in Igbogbo.
Some of the Traditionalists that graced this year's festival were the Osugbos, Awo-Opa, Eleluku, Ogboni fraternity, Aborijin, Onigunnuko, Alagemo, Onisegun, Agbebi, Babalawos, amongst others.
