ADEBORUWA-IN- COUNCIL, OTHER STAKEHOLDERS OPT FOR PEACEFUL RESOLUTION OVER IYALOJA- GENERAL CONTROVERSY IN IGBOGBO/BAYEKU LCDA. | Shakiru Seidu.

Following moves to resolve the issues that emanated from the installation of the new Iyaloja General of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, which has generated controversy, the Adeboruwa-in-Council and other Stakeholders in Igbogbo, have called for calm, noting that His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, is on top of all the issues of concern raised by all critical Stakeholders, while assuring that every issues raised would be effectively addressed, to forestall a breakdowns of peace within Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

The Stakeholders' meeting, which was held at Adeboruwa Palace Igbogbo on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, comprising the presence of the representatives of Adeboruwa-in-Council, Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, Chief Odugbose, Otunba of Igbogbo, Chief Jelili Oduntan, Balogun of Igbogbo, Chief Yaya Agoro, Apena of Igbogbo, Chief Kehinde Faniyi, Oradulu of Igbogbo, and some Baales. Others were representatives of IDEA, Engr. Lateef Oduntan, Mr Tunde Afuwape, President Igbogbo Youth Coalition, Dr. Adeleke Dankuwo, representatives of Ijashi-Ilu, amongst others.

They therefore called on all aggrieved persons to sheathe their swords and desist from further social media engagements pending the resolution of the matter, in the interest of peace.

The body after the meeting released a communique which was shared with Igbogbo foremost Reporter, MegaXpression Media. The Communique is hereby reproduced below;

"The attention of HRM Oba (Barrister) Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade 1, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom and Oba-In-Council, Igbogbo Development Association (IDEA), Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC) and Ijashi have been drawn to some information circulating on the social media in respect of recent appointment of Iya Oloja General for Igbogbo-Bayeku LCDA.

"It is important to provide some clarifications as part of efforts to de-escalate the situation and educate members of the public. Adeboruwa Palace wishes to state unequivocally for information and records as follows:

1) Our revered Alayeluwa, HRM Oba (Barrister) Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali is the traditional head of our Kingdom and we hold him in high esteem.

2) Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun is a  father to all and a political leader in our LCDA and Lagos State. He is well respected.

3) Builder Olusesan Daini is the Chairman of our LCDA and is equally well respected.

"Members of the public should please note that there are no disputes among these eminent personalities in Igbogbo community contrary to speculations in some quarters.

"Also note that efforts are ongoing to correct the misinformation that emanated following the appointment of Iya Oloja General for Igbogbo-Bayeku LCDA.

"Therefore, those that are pedling negative comments or insinuations or attacking each other should restrain themselves so as not to cause avoidable crisis in this peaceful community.

"Igbogbo is a land of peace. The Residents will continue to enjoy peace and tranquility under the leadership of our Alayeluwa.

"The Adeboruwa Palace seeks cooperation and understanding of all Residents and Groups as we move on  towards addressing the issues at stake in the best interests of all and sundry. Thank you.
