OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR BABAJIDE OLUSOLA SANWO-OLU ON TERRIBLE STATE OF IGBOGBO /BOLA AHMED TINUBU/ IGBE ROAD. Written by: Shakiru SEIDU.

Dear Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu,

Greetings Sir,

I picked this medium of open letter to reach out to you again, because of the danger and economic hardship posed by Igbogbo/Bola Ahmed Tinubu/ Igbe Road to the great people of Lagosians. It is very unfortunate that the road was said to be delivered in two years, is yet to be completed after seven years of demolition of houses.

Your Excellency sir, I had tears running down my eyes at several occasions, seeing school children, particularly Oreyo junior and senior grammar schools students, being denied of going to school, because of the sorrow state and danger at 'Afa spot', which has separated Igbogbo township from over twenty communities.

Sincerely, it's a hell; the road is so bad that erosion has divided it into two on different critical locations to Ginti, and has become a point of 'No Go Area'. More importantly is the fact that this road leads to the multi billion naira State Investments, the Imota Rice Mill, Asphalt Plant, Ijede Ferry Terminal, the much awaited Fourth Mainland Bridge and several other places of great economic importance to the State.

Mr Governor sir, your last visit to Igbogbo, precisely Wednesday, March 24, 2021, you said some promises to us, on our roads, and based on this, I want to thank you on Obafemi Awolowo/ Bayeku road construction, which is ongoing. 'A mo l'oore Sir'.

Hence, the HITECH Contractor on Igbogbo/ Bola Ahmed Tinubu/ Igbe road needs your strict order sir. They have adopted a snail method of road construction since 2017 and the residents are going through pains and suffering about this. 'Omo Sanwo-Olu', we seriously need your prompt intervention sir.

Meanwhile, aside from the hardship infringed by this road, the scenario had equally put to questioning, the competence of our community leaders. Our leaders, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro AMA, Chairman Olusesan Mayokun Daini, the Governor's Advisory Council Members, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, amongst other community leaders in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, can hardly sleep now, because of the series of complaints and agitations by the residents and road users.

Your Excellency, your prompt intervention in no distance time will absolutely restore the people's hope on your government and these respected Community Leaders Sir. We need a prompt action on your part, and If anything is to be done, it has to be done NOW and FAST. And if this is done, I'll be the first person to appreciate and commend you through another open letter Sir.

My Governor, kindly accept the assurances of my highest regards, as I await your quick intervention on this said road Sir. 'Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko, Ajumo se ni o'!

Yours in Community Service,
Shakiru SEIDU
