AROYEWUN HOSTS LANDMARK YOUTH ECONOMIC SUMMIT TO SHAPE IGBOGBO/BAYEKU LCDA'S FUTURE, LAUNCHES EDUCATION FUND. ...As Kaoli, Sanwoola, Ibikunle Others inspired youth to unlock potentials for success.
In a move that promises to redefine the future of the youth of Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, the Executive Chairman, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), in partnership with the Igbogbo Youth Forum (IYF), was on Sunday, October 26, 2025, hosted the maiden edition of the Youth Economic Submit, at the Megalite Hall, Homat Events Center Igbogbo, Lagos.
The event brought together the brightest minds and most innovative thinkers among the society, to shape a brighter future for the youth of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA. Among those are the Guest Speaker of the day, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, the DG iCare Foundation, Dr. Tunde Ajayi, Keynote Speaker and General Manager of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency.
Mr. Idris Adesina (Adido), was the Moderator for the panel session, while Alhaji Sulaimon Ayokunle, CEO of Sula Marine, Mr. Timothy Aluko, Program Management Professional, Mrs. Ayomikun Titiloye, FCA, Financial Expert; Hon. Ajao Afeez Onaolapo, Life Coach, and Ganiyu Abiona Ibikunle (Ph.D.), Assistant Director, Department of Education, LASU, were the discussants.
In their eloquent lectures, Mayor Deen Sanwoola and other guests Speakers, delved into critical topics such as digital and soft skills, financial management, youth and social entrepreneurship, and government policy initiatives. Attendees were inspired by real-world stories of youth-led transformations, with sessions emphasising the need for discipline, purpose, and proactive action in turning potential into tangible impact.
Their insights into practical skills and policy-driven empowerment left participants motivated to stop waiting for the world to change; but be the change.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, highlighted the deliberate focus on Youth development by his administration. He outlined initiatives such as the 'Mentorship with HOA', which started immediately he was sworn in; digital empowerment platforms; and collaborations with vocational centers and private sector partners, among others.
Aroyewun challenged the youth to commit to growth and community impact. "The sustainable future we talk about will not appear by wishful thinking," he said. "It will be built by the minds and hands of young people who choose to grow beyond excuses," he opined.
The summit equally marked the official launch of the Igbogbo Youth Forum (IYF) Education Fund, a pivotal initiative aimed at providing educational resources and opportunities to underprivileged youth in the LCDA.
As highlighted by Hon Yinka Ogunlaja, the Chairman, IYF Education Fund, the launch of the IYF Education Fund represents a concrete step toward a vision, promising scholarships, training, and support to ensure no young talent is left behind.
Meanwhile, the contributions of His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Chief Kaoli Olatunji Olusanya, the Asiwaju of Ibesheland, underscored the summit's significance as a collaborative effort for societal progress, while urging the youth to maintain integrity and good character.
As the event concluded, participants departed with renewed vigor, armed with actionable insights and a sense of collective purpose. This summit not only celebrated the boundless potential of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA's youth but also reinforced the LCDA's role as a catalyst for sustainable development in Lagos State.
This event demonstrates that our youth are willing to lead a rewarding life of excellence.
