ASIWAJU REUBEN OLORUNFUNMI BASORUN CELEBRATES 80TH BIRTHDAY IN GRAND STYLE, LAUNCHES A NEW BOOK TITLED 'PARAMOLE'. | Shakiru Seidu. Royal Heads, Business moguls, legislators, top government functionaries, religious leaders, others, were in attendance.

The story of Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun's life is one centered on merit, humility and service to humanity, and that was re-echoed when the trained Lawyer, Banker, Administrator, Politician, Clergyman and Asiwaju of Igbogbo land turned 80.

The celebrant, who takes his Christian faith seriously together with his dear wife, Chief Mrs Bolanle Basorun and their lovely children, began the special Birthday event with a thanksgiving service at the Gospel Church of Cherubim and Seraphim, Oke Ayo Igbala Irapada in Lagos on Thursday, October 18.

The occasion saw several important guests honouring the Thanksgiving of the notably organised and intelligent person, Olorunfunmi Basorun, in a service officiated by the Church Leadership.

The special guests include, His Excellency, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, the Governor of Lagos State who was ably represented by his SSG, Mr Tunji Bello, Royal Heads, His Royal Majesties, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Senator representing East Senatorial, Sen. Bareehu Gbenga Ashafa, SSA to President Buhari on Diaspora, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, APC gubernatorial Candidate, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, Council Chairmen, Comr Olusesan Daini and Hon Adeola Adebisi Banjo of Igbogbo/Bayeku and Ikorodu North LCDAs. Others are Governor's Advisory Committee, GAC, members, Chief Olusi, Chief Finni, Alhaji Busura Alebiosu, Chief Lanre Rasaki amongst others.

Indeed, MegaXpression Magazine reports that it was a special day, as they all joined Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun on the altar for thanksgiving and then sang a special Birthday song for him. The Thanksgiving was also extended to Igbogbo Central mosque on the following day, when the Celebrant and his family went to give God the glory.

The social part of the celebration which was anchored by the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Comrade Olusesan Daini, took place on Saturday, October 20, at Mikkson Onas Hall, Bola Ahmed Tinubu way, Igbogbo, where all and sundry and the cream of the society converged to felicitate with Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun, as he celebrates his 80th Birthday Anniversary.

Celebration of Birthdays is said to be a grace from God. Virtually the calibres of people who graced the ceremony without any iota of doubt were people of timber and calibre and this made the occasion glamorous. Fabrics and attires of different colours rented air and the guests were beaming with smile.

The celebrant, Robash, as he's fondly called, wife and children were full of praises to the Almighty God for making the dream come to reality, alongside with Book launch titled, 'PARAMOLE, K'ORO IWOSI', which was widely embraced.

Different encomium were raised on the Celebrant, as regard his doggedness for State and Nation building. Speaking to Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression magazine, the wife of the celebrant, Chief Bolanle Basorun, thanked God for His uncommon Mercy and gave special tribute to all that present, for the care and love showed on her family.

The celebration also witnessed veteran juju music maestro, who dishes out some of his evergreen tunes in honour of the celebrant and to the delight of his A-list guests.

More important guests joined the party, like His Excellency, Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode, who was ably represented, Her Excellency, Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Idiat Adebule, represented by Mrs S B.
