2018 'AJEDE LUWASA' DAY HOLDS AMID FANFARE. | Shakiru Seidu. Monarchs, legislators, business moguls, religious leaders, others, in attendance.

The 'Ajede Luwasa' Day celebration on Saturday held amid fanfare and jubilation, at Alajede Palace premises, Ijede. The event witnessed the attendance of prominent Ijede sons and daughters, most of whom came from outside Ijede, legislators, political players, religious leaders, clubs and associations.

The celebration also attracted a crowd which rendered the venue inadequate, as the attendees far outnumbered the seats provided for the occasion. Traditional rulers from within and outside Ijede kingdom also graced the occasion.

Speaking to MegaXpression Magazine on the celebration, the Chairman of the special Committee, Alhaji Kamorudeen Lanre Kuye, gave glory to the Almighty God for making the day a reality, said this year's event no doubt brought all of them together, as the Palace Ground has played host to all the events since 15th December, 2018.

"With all these cultural and reunion activities, we are already seeing the light at Ijede. The happy reunion of our people would not have been smooth and possible without the support extended to the committee by the Council of Chiefs, our guests today, the good people of Ijede and the Clubs and Associations in the community.

"I thank God and all of you for the moral and financial support.
The Ajede Luwasa special Committee will always appreciate you all for all these support, because without you, we cannot reach this feat. I have noticed that yearly, when we hold this event, peace and progress is also being extended to all households in the community, Lanre Kuye said.

He further thanked the super support of the Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Alhaji Jimoh Fatiu Salisu for the support that the Committee gotten from him despite the Short notice.

"Also worthy of mention is the Royal Support extended to the committee by HRM Obateru of Egbin. Also worthy to mention is the support we also got from our two representatives, Hon. Jimi Benson (MHR) and Hon. Nuru Saka Sholaja who despite the short notices too, hugely supports the Community to make sure that this year 2018 Day becomes a reality.

"I also want to recognize the support of my brother, Mr Moshood Aro. To all our donors too, we say a big thank you. God will always provide for your needs," he added.

Kuye therefore make used of the event to appeal to the State Government, having been so urged by all and sundries to please help rebuild their Palace, Town Hall, reconstruct the road from itagama to Ijede as this will surely improve the economic activities in the town.

Also speaking to Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Magazine, Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, said this year's event afforded the opportunity for the sons and daughters of Ijede to come together again to unite, share love and communicate.

“It was a great event and all can see that of all the Ajede Luwasa Day celebration, this year’s event was the greatest,” he said.

Babajimi Benson, further lauded the Ajede Luwasa Day celebration, saying it was a unique one, urging the community to keep the momentum and deliver Ijede LCDA to All Progressives Congress, APC, in the coming general elections.

APC Senatorial Candidate, Hon Bayo Osinowo,  Majority leader, LSHA, Hon SOB Agunbiade and his amiable wife, Alhaja Tairat Agunbiade, Member LSHA, Hon Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka, PDP Candidate, LSHA Ikorodu Constituency II, Mr Aro Moshood Abiodun, AMA, father of the day, Engr Lookman Erogbogbo, Hon Saheed Hassan Adefarasin, Chief Owolabi Salis, Council Chiefs, and other prominent dignitaries were in attendance.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
