IGBOGBO CULT WAR: DAINI READS RIOT ACT TO CULTISTS, STOPS 'CANDLE NIGHT' INDEFINITELY. | Shakiru Seidu.

The Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Comrade Olusesan Daini, Thursday, warned youth of the LCDA to abstain from cultism, threatening that his administration, in conjunction with the Security Chiefs would not tolerate any unrest caused by cult members again. This was just, as he disclosed that nobody should organise 'Candle Night' again in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.

He advised the residents of Igbogbo and Bayeku communities, where six persons have so far been reportedly killed in a cult war, to go about their legal activities, assuring them of police protection.

The Chairman who gave the warning while having a Stakeholders Consultative Forum on Y2019 Budget, urged the cult members to renounce their membership and channel their strengths towards the growth and development of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.

The DPO, Igbogbo Police Station, Mr Ifeanyi Ohuruzo, warned members of cultist to shun their nefarious activities, noting that murder and armed robbery were carried out by cultists. He promised to ensure that the LCDA is made habitable for residents and visitors, and for businesses to thrive.

He also pointed out that political tussle was another area that is causing breach of public peace in the state and promised to remain apolitical and to give all parties level playing field.

In the same vein, Squadron Mopol 63 Commandant, Mr Sola Ogunwale, leaders of Civil Defence, OPC, Onyabo and Agbekoyas, thanked the Council Chairman, Comr Daini, for his efforts in crime fighting in the LCDA and commended efforts by officers of the Security Operatives for being resilient in ensuring that sanity returned to Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo
