IGBOGBO COMMUNITY BEGINS 31ST IGBOGBO DAY FESTIVAL WITH 'IWURE', AS THE MONARCH PRAYS FOR PEACE AND TRANQUILITY.

The 31st version of Igbogbo Day celebration was on Friday, 22nd of November, 2019, commenced in front of Adeboruwa Palace Igbogbo, witnessing the presence of sons and daughters of Igbogbo Kingdom.

The Adeboruwa-in-Council, led by HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, traditional groups, members of Igbogbo Day Planning Committee and Igbogbo Development Association were all gathered to kick start the event with 'Iwure'.

The traditionalists prayed for the growth and development for Igbogbo Community, while the Monarch also did same. He enjoined all to work together as a team towards the actualisation of better Igbogbo for all.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo
