SANWO-OLU, OTHERS STORM IKORODU TO CELEBRATE FORMER DEPUTY GOVERNOR, PRINCE ABIODUN OGUNLEYE AT 79. His lofty contributions to the State will always be remembered, former Commissioner, Prince Rotimi Ogunleye says.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, members of Governor's Advisory Committee, GAC, top government functionaries, past and present, and other prominent personalities, on Sunday joined families, friends and associates from all walks of life to celebrate Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor, Lagos State, as he turns 79. 

Speaking at the Patriarch Bolaji Methodist Church, Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu, the Governor congratulated Prince Abiodun Ogunleye for the life well spent. He saluted his courage and his leadership quality.

"It is with profound pleasure that I extend this goodwill message in felicitation with and your family as you celebrate your 79th Birthday anniversary.

"Your commitment and dedication to the growth and development of Lagos State are apparent in your distinguished service to the state; both as a Deputy Governor, as well as  two-time commissioner in the state's executive council.

"As you celebrate your birthday anniversary, you stand tall amongst your fellow men as one who exemplifies the very best of our generations," he said.

Speaking with MegaXpression Correspondent, the former Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Prince Rotimi Ogunleye, said as a loyal Party member, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye had successfully translated words into action by fully participating in politics and governance, and leaving a legacy of serving as a two-time Commissioner and deputy governor of his State.

He recalled many conversations with his brother, which had always centred on Ikorodu and her people, with wise and insightful counsel on engendering a better State.

According to him, "as Prince Abiodun Ogunleye turns 79, his lofty contributions, with some already brilliantly captured in the memoir, will always be remembered. The real impact of his wealth of experience, selfless spirit and many sacrifices in leadership would transcend pages and continue to resonate in the many lives he had touched, he added.

Also, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Sen Anthony Adefuye, Sen Adeseye Ogunlewe, Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe, Princess Adenrele Ogunsanya and Hon Nurudeen  Saka-Sholaja of Ikorodu Constituency II, showered encomium on the quality lifestyle of Prince Abiodun Ogunleye. They prayed that the Almighty God would grant the former deputy governor longer life, good health and strength to continue serving the State and Ikorodu that he loves so much.

The celebrant, in his thank you message appreciated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, members of G.A.C, Clergymen, Council Chairmen, families and other well wishers for their presence towards successful celebration. "What shall I say unto the Lord, all I have to say is THANK YOU LORD," he said.
