ABIKE DABIRI-EREWA PALLIES NDE, FACILITATES TRAINING FOR 100 YOUTH ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP. It's aimed at reducing unemployment in our society, Nasir Argungu, NDE Director General reveals.
The Chairman, Nigeria Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa has facilitated trainings for 100 youths in Lagos. The programme which commences on Tuesday, was brought by the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, and designed to train the youth on entrepreneurship for three days at the Ikorodu council secretariat.
While addressing the participants, the Lagos State coordinator, Mrs Serena Olayemi Edward, appreciated Mr Nasir Argungu, the Director General, National Directorate of Employment who has allowed her to represent him.
In her remark, Mrs Edward said the training is meant to raise entrepreneurs and reduce unemployment among the Nigerian youths. "If we have young entrepreneurs that are self employed in due time, there will be employers of labour. We are encouraging youth to be entrepreneurs because most of our graduated youths have a lots of ideas but the issue is fund. So the government has come with this Nirsal Microfinance Bank to ensure that the youth who have ideas to become entrepreneur are supported.
"This programme is in collaboration with Hon. Abike Dabiri Erewa, who facilitated the participants under her directorate. As soon as we trained them, they are all expected to register on the platform and be issued certificate, called for interview and being giving the money subsequently," Mrs Edward said.
Hon. Omotayo Awolesi, who represented the Chairman, Ikorodu LG, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, equally commended Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa for facilitating such a noble programme, stating that this is a reliable project and training that will improve our youths and reduce unemployment in Nigeria.
"I want to urge the participants to focus and make use of any opportunity that comes out of this programme," Adesina said.
Also, the Head of NIDCOM, Lagos State, Mr Ayodele Akinribido (LL.M.), equally enjoined the participants to make use of the little beginning to a greater height, wishing them all the best to make something out of it because it is an opportunity of lifetime.
In her closing remarks, Mrs Dipo Filomena Ojo, said a very big thank you to Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa for facilitating this programme for the participants. "They would be trained properly to know the way forward to access this NIRSAL AGSMEIS fund," she said.
