CONTRACTOR BEGINS REHABILITATION OF 1.7KM IGBE/OREYO ROAD IN IGBOGBO, LAGOS. Council Chief, residents, others applaud Hon. Babajimi Benson for facilitating project.

Motorists and other road users of 1.7km Igbe/Oreyo road, Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos, can finally have a sigh of relief as the Contractor hired by the federal government, JRB Investment, have commenced work on the full rehabilitation of the road.

Igbe/Oreyo road is under Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs, Igbogbo, which comprises of Igbeyin Adun, Ifeoluwa, Otitoloju, Itedo Oluwa, Onolu, Igbe Progressive, Hilltop, Peaceland, and Odera CDAs.

Speaking with the facilitator, a federal lawmaker and Chairman, House Committee on Defence, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, said to MegaXpression News that the bad condition of Igbe/Oreyo road in Igbogbo had affected the economic activities of the people in that area.

He further stated that the rehabilitation was in response to the yearnings of his constituents whose economic activities had been adversely affected by the deplorable state of the road.

“I am concerned about the bad state of roads in some areas in Lagos State, particularly in my federal constituency. If the roads are good, the business and economy of our people would improve," Benson said.

The lawmaker equally thanked the residents of Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs and the people of Ikorodu federal Constituency for their unflinching supports bestowed upon him, assuring them of more quality representation and attracting more people-oriented projects for his constituents.

The Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Bldr Olusesan Mayokun Daini, who had earlier visited the site applauded the uncommon gesture of Hon Babajimi Benson, noting that the lawmaker have truly fulfilled the promise made.

Daini also appreciated the Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs for their selfless services toward the community development.

Responding to a brief interview, the representative of JRB Investment Engr. Mohammed Odakim, said he's very happy with the support giving by Hon Benson and Bldr Daini, noting that the cooperation of the residents is equally commendable. 

Odakim said they are going to complete the rehabilitation within the next five months."

Also, Engr. Kunle Oduborisha, a community leader and resident of Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs, while speaking with MegaXpression News, lauded Hon. Benson's uncommon passion for community development, commending him for his efforts in ensuring the 1.7km Igbe Road is motorable.

“Residents of Igbe Gateway Joint CDAs, including commercial drivers have suffered a lot due to the dilapidated state of the road. The rehabilitation of the road will surely alleviate the sufferings of the people plying the road," Oduborisha said.
