ADEBORUWA CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL 10TH CORONATION ANNIVERSARY AT POST-EVENT RECEPTION


The Aafin Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom once again came alive as eminent personalities, members of the Adeboruwa-in-Council, planning committee and subcommittees gathered for a colourful Post-10th Coronation Anniversary Reception in honour of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali.

The event commenced with the arrival of committee members, distinguished guests, members of the Adeboruwa- in-Council and the grand arrival of the royal father. Guests were formally introduced while the programme was expertly anchored by Omo'ba Peju Akinyemi. Opening prayers and the rendition of the Igbogbo Anthem set the tone for the memorable gathering.

In her welcome address, the Vice Chairman of the 10th Coronation Anniversary Committee, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, appreciated everyone who contributed to the successful celebration, describing the anniversary as a remarkable demonstration of unity, commitment and love for Igbogbo Kingdom.

The Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, in his keynote address, reflected on the success of the week-long activities, commending members of the various committees and subcommittees for their dedication, sacrifice and collective efforts.

Speaking on the journey of the monarch, the Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, recalled the circumstances surrounding the selection of Oba Kasali, noting that despite doubts expressed by some people at the time, the Adeboruwa has justified the confidence reposed in him through purposeful and progressive leadership.

Chief Odofin urged the youth and other stakeholders to place the collective interest of Igbogbo above personal considerations, while calling for an end to land grabbing and other activities capable of threatening peace and development of Igbogbo Kingdom. He also stressed the importance of unity, mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and the protection of the kingdom's heritage for future generations.

The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, charged residents and community leaders to continue promoting oneness, integrity and peaceful coexistence.

Aroyewun, who reiterated his administration's commitment to protecting the interest of the people, declared that the council would not compromise in its resolve to tackle land grabbing and other activities capable of disrupting public order. He also appealed to community leaders to remain steadfast in guiding Igbogbo towards the path of sustainable growth and development.
The Council Chairman further noted the need for communal cooperation, particularly as several projects facilitated by the member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, requires suitable land for their successful execution.

One of the major highlights of the reception was the presentation of Certificates of Community Service to Aremo Adesegun Olushola Ogunlewe and other deserving members of the Central Planning Committee, committees and subcommittees in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the successful celebration.

The Central Planning Committee Chairman, Aremo Ogunlewe also formally presented the committee's report to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, bringing to an official conclusion the planning and execution phase of the historic 10th Coronation Anniversary.

In his royal address, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu; lawmakers and other government officials for their support and contributions to the development of Igbogbo Kingdom.

The monarch specially appreciated Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA; Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, MHR; Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro; Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye; the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun; members of the anniversary planning committees; the Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs; the Ijebu traditional rulers; religious organisations, traders, artisans and other individuals and groups who contributed morally, financially and materially to the success of the celebration.

Kabiyesi described the anniversary as more than a personal milestone, noting that it was a celebration of the history, culture, resilience and collective aspirations of the people of Igbogbo Kingdom. He called on all sons and daughters of the kingdom, both at home and in the diaspora, to sustain the prevailing spirit of unity and continue supporting initiatives that would promote peace and accelerated development.

The colourful reception later moved into a relaxed atmosphere of celebration as guests were treated to delicious meals by Abitop Catering Services, complemented with an array of refreshing drinks, while music and dance added glamour to the memorable post-anniversary gathering.

The reception served as a befitting conclusion to the historic 10th Coronation Anniversary celebration, reaffirming the unity of purpose and collective commitment of the people towards building a greater and more prosperous Igbogbo Kingdom.
