REP. BENSON FACILITATES CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR THREE IKORODU SCHOLARS

The Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has congratulated three outstanding constituents who secured prestigious Chinese Government international scholarships to pursue academic programmes at leading universities in China.

The beneficiaries — Bello Saidat Oluwatobiloba, Faseyide Tolulope Temitayo and Nwobu Faith — successfully accessed the scholarship opportunity through the facilitation of Rep. Benson and emerged after a rigorous screening and assessment process coordinated by the education support team of the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation.

Bello Saidat Oluwatobiloba will commence a PhD programme in National Development at Peking University, while Faseyide Tolulope Temitayo is set to study Nursing at Jinzhou Medical University. Nwobu Faith, on her part, will pursue a Master of Business Administration at North Eastern University, Shenyang.

The three scholars emerged from several applicants who sought educational support through Rep. Benson's constituency office. Their selection was based on academic excellence, records from their previous institutions and outstanding performances in the screening examinations conducted by the iCare Foundation.

The development further highlights Rep. Benson's commitment to creating access to global educational opportunities for young people in Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

It would be recalled that another constituent, Mr. Sadiq Jimoh, is already in China pursuing his master's degree through the same scholarship opportunity facilitated by the federal lawmaker.

At a pre-departure engagement with the latest beneficiaries, the Director-General of Jimi Benson's iCare Foundation and Executive Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on the Lagos State Parking Authority, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, congratulated the scholars and urged them to approach the opportunity with discipline, focus and a strong sense of responsibility.

Sanwoola charged them to remain committed to academic excellence, obey the laws of their host country and conduct themselves in a manner that would make their families, Ikorodu and Nigeria proud.

He also encouraged them to draw inspiration from the academic progress and conduct of Sadiq Jimoh, who has continued to make the constituency proud in China.

Speaking during the engagement, Rep. Babajimi Benson expressed delight over the success of the three beneficiaries, noting that their impressive academic records and performances during the screening process gave him confidence in their ability to excel in their respective institutions.

The federal lawmaker urged them to remain focused, disciplined and committed to achieving outstanding results throughout their academic journeys. Benson also reminded the scholars that they were ambassadors of Ikorodu and Nigeria, charging them to uphold the values of hard work, responsibility and good conduct while studying abroad.

According to him, their success should serve as an inspiration to other young people across Ikorodu Federal Constituency to take their education seriously and remain prepared for opportunities that could transform their lives.

The beneficiaries, in their separate remarks, expressed profound appreciation to Rep. Benson and the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation for facilitating their access to the prestigious scholarship opportunity.
Bello Saidat Oluwatobiloba described her admission to pursue a PhD at Peking University as a major milestone in her academic journey and pledged to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in her.

Faseyide Tolulope Temitayo described the opportunity to study Nursing at Jinzhou Medical University as a dream come true, promising to remain dedicated and disciplined throughout her studies.

Similarly, Nwobu Faith expressed gratitude for the opportunity to pursue an MBA at North Eastern University, Shenyang, pledging to maximise the exposure and knowledge gained for the development of her community and Nigeria.

The latest feat further underscores Rep. Benson's sustained investment in education and human capital development as major pillars of his representation of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

Through the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation and other interventions, the lawmaker has continued to create opportunities for constituents in the areas of education, scholarships, employment and empowerment, opening new pathways for young people to compete and excel both locally and internationally.

As the three scholars prepare to begin their academic journeys in China, they carry with them not only the reward of their academic excellence but also the hopes and expectations of Ikorodu Federal Constituency as they pursue greater heights on the global stage.
