CONSTRUCTION OF IGBOGBO ROAD: THE TALE OF SACRIFICE OF HOUSES OVER 300 YEARS OLD. | Shakiru Seidu.

The supposed threat to the inhabitants of Igbogbo demolition of both ancient and modern houses in respect of the proposed road construction has taken a new twist as the affected people unequivocally supported the development. They eagerly engaged other people to assist them in dismantling thier inherited structures.

According to what I witnessed today, the ancient houses of over 300 years were demolished within a twinkle of an eye.
The people were optimistic to sacrifice thier ancient buildings for the benefit of growth and development of Igbogbo community.

The manner in which the people rallied round to ensure smooth demolition exercise was beyond imagination. No one would have envisaged such corporation from the people of Igbogbo whose houses were meant for demolition. This is indeed a great sacrifice!

It is my candid opinion that government and other agencies concerned to adequately compensate the affected house owners without prejudice due to thier level of cooperation and hospitality extended to the supervision of the demolition.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
