The four wall of Ikorodu town hall was full to capacity on Monday, 4th of December, 2017, when the Lagos East Senatorial Meeting was graced by iconic Politicians, Party Leaders, Stakeholders and other APC faithfuls. The meeting was organized to unify all members of the Party throughout the 16 local Councils in Lagos East Senatorial District.
According to the former Speaker, LSHA, Hon. Jokotola Pelumi, who is the Secretary of the District anchored the programme, the main reason for the gathering is to promote peace and unity, he explained when speaking with MegaXpression Magazine.
Sen. Gbenga Ashafa, in his remark called for oneness among the APC members and urged to continued supporting the development of the Party. He cited some of his achievements in the House of Senate; reviving the Nigerian Railway Corporation, awarding the construction of Shagamu-Ikorodu road to contractors, building a new ICT centre in Igbogbo among others.
Otunba Anifowoshe Gbengen, Chairman of the Planning Committee Lagos East Senatorial District, in his address applauded the effort of members of the planning committee towards the success of the gathering. He said APC Party leaders saw the need for a unified general meeting with the philosophy of 'One Party, One Government'. He implored members to guide the structure of the Party as contained in the party constitution.
He also stressed that the ban on grouping by the National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains irrevocable.
Hon. Nurudeen Saka Sholaja, member LSHA, representing Ikorodu Constituency II, stated that unity is a necessity for progress. He also cited some of his achievements in office such as Newly trained Neighborhood Watch, Extension of local government chairman regime from 3 to 4years.
Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, Hon Segun Olulade also present clamored for unity especially in the next election, they called for peaceful settlement of dispute among the aggrieved Party members.

In the same vein, the senatorial leader, Chief Busura Alebiosu, aka Bush, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye and Rt Hon Adeyemi Ikuforiji enjoined the APC members to remain committed and eschew division among the Party structure. They appealed for one indivisible Party before they all endorsed Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for second term in 2019.
However, according to Senator Anthony Adefuye, justice comes before unity, he said 'Party members must benefit accordingly for the Party to be unified', he also assured the people that matters of discrimination and neglect will be looked into.
The meeting which was covered by MegaXpression Magazine came to an end with Chief Lanre Rasak KLM, urging APC members to disregard division and support Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for 2nd term.
Among those that witnessed the occasion were Chief Busura Alebiosu, Alhaji Seriki Bamu was represented, Sen Anthony Adefuye, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Sen Olorunnibe Mamowora, Rt Hon Jokotola Pelumi, Rt Hon Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Sen Gbenga Ashafa, Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, Hon Segun Olulade, Hon Nurudeen Sholaja, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola ably represented, Otunba Fatai Olukoga, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, Mr Wasiu Adeshina, Comrade Olusesan Daini, Mr Adebisi Banjo, Alhaji Gafar, Yeye Fausat Gbadebo, Alhaji Bashir Adekoya, Mr Lanre Balogun, Mr Gbenga Basanya, 16 Council representatives, among others.
