In a bid to encourage productivity and quality representation of Amuwo Odofin federal Constituecy, the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Amuwo Odofin LGA and Oriade LCDA have endorsed Prince Lanre Sanusi, PLS, as the prefered Party Candidate ahead of the APC Primaries, to represent them at the House of Representatives.

Sanusi, a Tax Regulation Consultant and Business Strategist, who specializing in (corporate / individual) compliance auditing analysis and reporting. Also provides business optimization strategies for small and large scale companies while helping in the areas of employment and human resources approaches, has won the confidence and trust of the Party members, got the blessings of all stakeholders in the constituency to represent Amuwo Odofin federal Constituecy at the national Assembly.

The endorsement which was covered by MegaXpression Magazine, took place at TFC Multiple Purpose Hall, Festac Town, Lagos, on Tuesday, witnessed a unanimous endorsement by the political stakeholders and groups.

While addressing the gathering, Prince Lanre Sanusi said, "On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

"Sequel to the release of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) timetable for the 2019 general elections, I wish to formally notify you of my intention to contest the position of  House of Representatives, Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency of Lagos State, under the auspices of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forth coming general elections.

"I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed and mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors.

"After all due diligence with my esteemed family and consultations with APC Stakeholders in Lagos State, I asked myself these questions, …If I was physically, spiritually, mentally and financially ready for the task ahead; the answer was no doubt in affirmative.

"The decision to present myself as an aspirant for scrutiny by our great party is premised on my possession of all the basic skills, qualifications, expertise and leadership qualities required to contest for the House of Representatives in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency. I am of the believe that good political leadership involves getting the big decision right; however difficult, however controversial, however potentially divisive and then being able to take people with you. And that requires something else as well – being wise enough to know when it’s time to listen.

"As a blue-blood Prince of Lagos State origin, it has become imminent for me to give back to my land of birth; Maternally, I am an heir of both the late HRM Oba Bisiriyu Ariyo, the Alamuwo of Kuje-Amuwo in Amuwo Odofin and Epetedo in Lagos Island of Lagos State. Paternally, I am of the same royal lineage -the Rademo Ruling House with HRM Oba (Engr,) Kabiru Shotobi, the current Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom and HRM Oba Akeem Oyebo, the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom. By my source of origin I belong to the three Senatorial district of Lagos State, I believe an investment in me is a guaranteed rewarding future for Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency."

Having consistently displayed great strength of character, Sanusi revealed that he possesses the capacity to stand for what is right and honorable for Nigeria no matter the diversion /distraction of external influences; because, with a good knowledge of Nigeria’s socio-political, economic and public sector environment, he has the ability to comprehend and grapple with complex national and international issues.

"Over the years, I have demonstrated keen understanding of the need to be transparent in governance and the evidence of this  is in my transparent business  dealings in the past  both on public or private enterprise chain locally and globally - this attributes has distinguished me.

"As a patriotic Nigerian, I have an enviable record of commitment to the Nigerian State; a proof of standing up for Nigeria in the face of sectional or regional challenge; a Incontrovertible Nigerian citizen and a passion for national interest.

"Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real as a people, They are serious and they are many. They may not be resolved easily or in a short span of time. But know this, Prince Lanre Sanusi - Omo Ariyo will do better. For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of our constituency economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act - not only to create new frontiers, but to lay a new foundation for growth.

"The opportunity to serve when accorded to me by the good people of Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency will enable me to focus my forte on Four Broad Legislative Actions which are inter alia: Poverty Reduction, Employment Generation, Infrastructural Development and Value Reorientation. I am a great positive minded professional with global business and management expertise who do not worry about failures but worry about chances I have missed when I don’t even try because positive thoughts generate positive feelings and attract positive life experiences, particularly because our greatest glory in Amuwo Odofin is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall," PLS explained.

While expressing his vision and mission to contest House of Reps., Sanusi promised to create a resilient community where partnerships and harmonization promotes regional success in economic development, education, infrastructure, and a high-quality life in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.

"We'll provide and present legislative services by introducing robust bills that would usher in shared prosperity , economic abundance and social cohesion in Amuwo Odofin federal constituency.

"Our mission is to deliver exemplary legislative services that are accountable, realistic, responsive and responsible to Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency community priorities, thereby ensuring a healthy and sustainable constituency, which will drive towards our shared vision for a better future for Nigeria.

"A sizable number of scholars and Progressives have argued that development in any nation is a function of a leadership that subscribes to the principles of accountability in government at various levels.

"I also believe and declare that politicians can only succeed in office based on cooperation and support from the masses, and I urge all Nigerians not to leave governance to politicians alone but should always endeavor to do their bit by acting as checks and balances in order to guide them in the right direction.

"My socio-political and economic vision is to work in concert with our party leaders and on the platform of our manifesto to revive the ailing economy, create sustainable employment, provide affordable and accessible healthcare, strengthen our public education system, define a path to energy independence for Nigeria and tackle the problem of housing and infrastructural development.

"The independence designed by the British Colonial government and our forerunners was never intended to solve every problem with a new law or a new program. At independence, we share lofty dreams which were enshrined in our first National Anthem “Nigeria we hail thee” With the end to Colonial rule and formal economic exploitation over, Nigeria’s economy was left relatively strong but highly undiversified. Our new ill prepared Nation was plunge in to political chaos as the issue of power sharing among the ethnic groups became a thorny issue which culminated in to the first military coup and civil war. With all these and many other issues, I am poised to work in concert with the leaders of our great party, follow through on out manifestos and political philosophy and legislatively remedy this defect and build a self-sustaining Nigerian economy, comprising of agricultural, Industrial and service sector while not losing sight of the need to tighten up on our social promise and political relevance in the comity of nations," he added.

"Uphold the socio-political and economic rights of Awori land.

"The women, widows youths and the indigent  shall also be included in all our planned projections.

"Work hand-in-hand consultatively with the traditional institutions  and the Community Development Committee (CDC) and Community Development Association  (CDA) towards achieving a common developmental strategy," he explained.

Sanusi also promised to report conflict of interest situations with Stakeholders with proof of introducing and implementing clear-cut conflict of interest solutions. Sponsor, support and lobby the National Assembly towards making constructive legislations to the attainment of the socio-political and economic aspiration of Nigerians.

"I'll expand the frontiers of democracy of which all the people of Nigeria, regardless of ethnic groups, will be provided economic, social and developmental benefits that will certainly make Nigeria a great nation not only in Africa but across the world.

"In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey to the Federal House has never been one of short-cuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted - Rather, it has been the risk-takers," he said.

We've seen that the Amuwo Odofin Constituents aren't looking for more spin or more gimmicks, but honest answers about the challenges we face.
