A former member of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State, Chief Mrs Remi Adiukwu has led thousands of supporters to decamp to the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday, at the State Party Secretariat, Acme, Ikeja, where the presence of the top Party Leaders, Nollywood stars and Party faithfuls were received, with melodious music by Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and Alhaja Salawa Abeni.

Addressing a crowd of supporters, Remi Adiukwu said she made the decision freely based on her respect and love for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and her concern to participate in politics that would facilitate good development. "I have decided to drop PDP's brain and choose Tinubu's brain, because APC is a peaceful Party," she revealed.

Remi further disclosed that she was convinced to join the Party, stressing that leadership and democracy should be about enhancing infrastructure and ensuring development for the people. MegaXpression Magazine learnt that Remi is also a former Commissioner under the administration of Asiwaju Tinubu in 2003.

The State Chairman of APC in Lagos State, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, said thousands of people had also decamped from the PDP to the APC recently. He described the decamping as “a landmark in the political history of Lagos State,” applauding the move of Remi Adiukwu and her political contributions in Osodi/Isolo, as well as in the state as tremendous.

Balogun, therefore assured the defectors of a level-playing ground. He said President Muhammadu Buhari’s APC-led government would continue to address the challenges being faced by Nigerians through various projects and policies and urged the people to support the party to succeed at all levels.
