Today marks International Literacy Day, which celebrates the importance of literacy as the foundation for education and social development in Nigeria.

This celebration makes Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club to visit with Lions leaders and partners to discuss Lions’ commitment to increasing literacy rates worldwide and providing opportunity for a strong education among the adults.

MegaXpression Magazine learnt that the Club celebrated this year's edition by donating writing materials to the Adult Class at Ayangburen Primary School Ikorodu, Lagos State, with smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries.

Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo
