HON BENSON PALLIES NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR REFUGEES, MIGRANTS & INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS, ORGANISES A 3-DAY ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING FOR YOUTHS OF IKORODU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY. ...Charges them not to sabotage at any place they find themselves.

The Honourable member, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Babajimi Adekoge Benson, in conjunction with Regal Consult Limited, partnered with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally displaced persons to organize a 3-day entrepreneurship training for the youths of Ikorodu federal Constituency. 

The event which took place between the 21st - 24th December 2019 at Funcity building, Ikorodu, Lagos State, was declared opened by the DG, iCARE Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola and other members of iCARE Family in attendance.

While addressing the participants, Mayor Deen Sanwoola said the purpose of having the entrepreneurship training for Ikorodu youths is to enable them having a better understanding of business strategies, being in the right jobs, with the right skills through effective Establishment and Workforce planning, saying an entrepreneur is someone who take risk in business with the aim to yield profit.

He said an entrepreneur should be an original thinker, risk takers who take responsibility for own actions, feel competent and capable and someone that can set high goals and enjoy working towards them. He charged the youth to identify any opportunities that come their ways by knowing the skill they are good at, looking within their own life for problems to solve and solving problems of family and friends are having.

Sanwoola further explained that for you to be a successful entrepreneurs, you must be creative and innovative, create new products, create new processes and create new delivery. "An entrepreneur fails when the owner lack managerial skill, fail to plan and prepare, poor money and managers.

"Some of the factors affecting entrepreneurship are, Lack of fund or Capital, Lack of management and Organisational skill, inability to get good employees, lack of government protection or incentive, technology and technical infrastructure challenges," Sanwoola added.

On the 3rd day, the erudite Legislator and facilitator of the 3-day Workshop, Hon Babajimi Adekoge Benson, expressed joy and fulfillment toward the successful Seminar. He applauded Sanwoola for the robust training and enjoined the participants to make use of the Workshop.

"I am very happy with the presentation, I have also learnt some new things because learning continues as long as you are alive. I listened to the presentations, I saw innovation and creativity, no doubt, the sky would not be the limit.

"If you serve others, you are gaining experience, knowledge and new things. If you serve others well, others will serve you well too. Wherever you find yourself, do not sabotage others because it will come back to hunt you as entrepreneur," JB, as he's fondly called advised.

The workshop ends with presentation of certificates by Hon Benson and supporting fund for all the participants.
