COVID-19: HON. ABIKE DABIRI -EREWA DOLES OUT CASH RELIEF TO VULNERABLE, INDIGENTS IN IKORODU. ...Says it's meant to support the government's effort in bringing succour to the people.

As part of its social responsibilities to its community to cushion the effect of the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Kafayat Dabiri -Erewa, has distributed cash relief for food to the residents of Ikorodu, Lagos.

Dabiri-Erewa, a Nigerian politician and former member of the Nigeria Federal House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Constituency in Lagos State, made this known while speaking with MegaXpression Community News, adding that the gesture is meant to support the government efforts in bringing succour to the people.

An Ikorodu born daughter said the beneficiaries are mainly the aged people, needy, and vulnerable across Ikorodu Division. She therefore commended President Muhammadu Buhari for putting in place necessary measures to curtail the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Dabiri-Erewa urged Nigerians to always obey the directive laid down by the federal and state governments in preventing the spread of the virus.

“I am appealing to all not to disobey the government’s directives, while I urge Nigerians to remain at homes pending the time the issue of Corona Virus will be over. We should always wash our hands properly and avoid social gathering, by doing so, we are likely to be free from the virus”, she said.

“I appreciate the efforts of the state and federal government so far in putting necessary measures in place to end the virus”, Dabiri-Erewa added.
