COVID-19: OBA KASALI PROVIDES STIMULUS PACKAGE FOR LESS PRIVILEGE IN IGBOGBO KINGDOM, APPLAUDS GOV. SANWO-OLU'S GESTURE. ...recipients, others exhibit happiness.

In a bid to compliment the effort of the Lagos State Government, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, has provided relief packages to the people of his kingdom, aimed at mitigating the suffering of his people during the 14 days stay at home order.

Oba Kasali, while speaking exclusively with MegaXpression Community News,​ said the package is to compliment the effort of the Lagos State Government. He used the opportunity to thank and commend the executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwolu, and the Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi​, for their​ outstanding leadership during this trying time.

According to His Royal Majesty, "at this point of time, we are doing this to support the Government of Lagos  State because they can not do it alone. I equally appreciate Governor Sanwo-Olu, on his pragmatic approach in putting end to COVID-19 in Lagos State. 

The Monarch further applauded the wonderful contributions of the various individuals of Igbogbo indigene, who have one way or the other contributed immensely to make the relief packages available for vulnerable and the less privilege ones. He enjoined others who have not contributed to do so. 

"This is the time to rally round, assisting the vulnerable and aged ones in terms of relief materials to cushion the effect of the lockdown in Igbogbo and Ikorodu Division," the Monarch added.

Some of the recipients of the package, both indigene and non indigene expressed gratitude to the Monarch for supporting them and also for showing exemplary leadership at this trial time.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
