ADEBORUWA INSTALLS MRS KARIMOT OJIKUTU AS NEW IYALODE OF IGBOGBO KINDGOM. ...Appeals to sons, daughters of Igbogbo to come home and improve the economy of the town.

The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, HRM Oba (Barr.) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade the first, has formally installed a new Iyalode of Igbogbo kingdom, Lagos State. The new Iyalode, Mrs Karimot Jokotade Ojikutu of Rademo ruling House Igbogbo, is a business tycoon and an astute politician.

The ceremony, which took place on Sunday at the Osugbo Shrine and Adeboruwa's palace beforetaken her home, was witnessed strictly by a cross section of Osugbos, other traditional chiefs and families.

Speaking with MegaXpression Magazine at the installation, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo described the new Iyalode as an industrious woman who has contributed immensely to the progress of Igbogbo town and the upliftment of women in the society.

The Monarch appealed to all sons and daughters of Igbogbo to continue to love one another and come home and improve the economy of the town. He enjoined the new Iyalode to continue to do her best in the interest of Igbogbo people and Igbogbo town.

Responding, the new Iyalode, Mrs Karimot Ojikutu, thanked the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, his chiefs, led by High Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo kingdom,  Baales and the entire people of the ancient town for the honour bestowed upon her, promising not to relent in contributing her quota to the progress of Igbogboland.

Ojikutu further appealed to the people of Igbogbo to continue to love one another and avoid involving themselves in any breach of the peace.

Part of the functions of the new Iyalode was said to mobilise and organise programmes for the youth and the womenfolk in Igbogbo and ensure that they are economically stable and self reliant.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
