OBA KASALI REMOVES MADAM ADEBISI FANUGA AS IYALODE OF IGBOGBO KINGDOM. ...Says her removal is aimed to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition and prestige of Igbogbo Kingdom.
Madam Adebisi Fanuga was on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, removed from her position as the Iyalode of Igbogbo, after her misconduct to the traditional institution of Igbogboland.
Adebisi Fanuga of Rademo ruling House in Igbogbo, was made the Iyalode of Igbogbo 6years ago, and accused of not completing her Chieftancy rites, with her total disrespect to the traditional institution of the land.
During the weekly Tuesday meeting at Adeboruwa Palace Igbogbo, the Adeboruwa-in -Council said Adebisi's removal was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo Kingdom.
In his remarks, the high ranking Chief, Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, said Madam Adebisi Fanuga was installed six years ago during the reign of Late Oba Dr. Johnson Olatunji Fatola, danced around the town but refused to complete the process by not going to Osugbo and other shrines.
"After the death of Late Oba Dr. Fatola, individuals and family members from Igbogbo, Ijede came to pay condolence visit to the Palace but Mrs Adebisi Fanuga did not show up.
"However, almost 5years now of HRM. Oba (Barr.) Abdul Semiu Orimadegun Kasali, Mrs Adebisi is yet to show up, neither before the King nor the Palace," Chief Onasanya explained.
In the same vein, the Apena, Balogun and Olotu Obinrin of Igbogbo, Chief Yaya Agoro, Chief Jelili Oduntan and Chief Mrs Sikiratu, said the Adeboruwa-in- Council had no option than to take away the title of Iyalode from Madam Adebisi Fanuga, warning her never to parade herself as one of the Adeboruwa Chiefs again.
HRM. Oba (Barr.) Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, in his royal words said henceforth, Madam Adebisi Fanuga is forbidden to use the title or parade herself as Iyalode of Igbogboland.
"Individuals, families and members of Rademo ruling House of Igbogbo should desist from ascribing the title of Iyalode to Mrs Adebisi Fanuga," the Monarch warned!
Members of her family, Chief Rasak Oyebanjo, Aro of Ijede, Mr Adegbero Fanuga, Alhaja Kashimawo, Chiefs, Baales, among others were in attendance.
