Chairman of Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, on Monday, November 15, 2021, gave the account of his stewardship to mark his 1,584 days in office, MegaXpression Media was there.
The event was held at the newly built Secretariat’s Hall, and witnessed the presence of His Royal Majesty, Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya, Olubeshe of Ibeshe, Representatives from the Adeboruwa-in-Council, former Deputy Governor, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former SSG, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, former Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Member House of Assembly, Hon. Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka, former Commissioner for Agriculture, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, former Ag. Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. (Mrs) Adebimpe Akinsola, former HoS, Aremo Omo'ba Adesegun Ogunlewe and Hon Gbenga Oshin.

In his eloquent address, Daini said his administration had made laudable achievements in the areas of Works, Agriculture, Social Development; Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation; Primary Health Care, Education and Library, Security, Infrastructure, etc...
"Again, on July 24, 2021, the good people of Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA returned us into the office for second term with greater purpose and expectations. This government is thus a government of continuity, to provide better service and dividends of democracy to the people.
"Today marks our 1,584 days in office, making egalitarianism a common experience to the people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA; this makes continuity of good governance a desire of our people. The focus of this administration is embedded in the THEMES agenda of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State.
"The hallmarks of our last dispensation were the commissioning of the Council's new administrative Complex, Kaniyi/Adeboruwa Market and Motor Park, construction of Oluwo Amoju/Olayinka Street and others, so we have good foundation to build upon.
"Our roads infrastructure is the topmost priority of this administration: drainage clearing, palliative and construction of our roads will begin very soon. In order to improve standard of our transportation system and security on our roads even at night, our administration will be installing solar powered streetlight on Oba Molaja Road before the end of this year," Chairman Daini explained.
He revealed that the Council's legislature has approved the establishment of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Public Works to give urgent and immediate attention to roads damages to avoid deplorable situation on roads. Noting that the legislature has equally approved the compulsory branding and profiling of every bike rider working in the LCDA; to ensure safety and security of roads and people.
Daini further stated: "Our administration is committed to standard healthcare delivery system in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. Efforts are in top gear to rehabilitate and renovate both Offin and Elepe health centers.
"We are providing every support and supervision for the ongoing Comprehensive and Standard Primary Healthcare Center in Agbele, Igbogbo. The abandoned Federal General hospital project is getting a push by Hon Babajimi Benson for completion.
"We have made provisions for the installation two units of 300KVA transformers for some communities and we intend to do more. Our administration has adopted an uncompromising goal for both quantitative and qualitative primary education in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
"Part of our resolve is to ensure that all our primary schools are fenced to ensure our children are learning in a quiet and secured environment. We have started provision of benches and desks for all the primary schools and converting every blackboard to white marker board; as well as provision of writing and instructional materials.
"The work on the modern library, facilitated by our administration is in desired speed; the library will be delivered for public use soon. We are setting up Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA’s quality education team to monitor and ensure that our teachers are doing well and pupils are responsive. We are also embarking on provision of running stipends to our primary schools' head teachers to aid administration of education activities in the schools.
"We have facilitated construction of the first public primary school in Olu-Odo community through the magnanimity of Hon. Babajimi Benson, after we received a donation of an acre of land from Olu-odo family. The construction will by God’s grace be completed very soon and the first set of pupils will resume learning in the facility in 2022.
"We also facilitated one block of six classrooms in Methodist Primary School, Elepe, also championed by Hon. Babajimi Benson. Our administration will be sponsoring winner of Igbogbopedia on historic international educational trip, the project that will be adopted as Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA annual project."
In securing lives and properties in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, the Chairman said a lot more will be done in this dispensation to gallantly nip insecurity in the bud. He added that his administration have secured a land from Ijaolu ruling house to build a police station in Elepe Community.
He has equally facilitated the State Government to build a police Station in Agufoye community, in which the process of securing land for the project is on going, while work is ongoing on the approval to site marine police stations along the coastal lines to further secure lives and properties.
"Our administration will commence full development and re-construction of Owode Ibeshe market and Elepe market in the first quarter of 2022. Our collaboration and engagement with the state Ministry of Commerce will aid SMEs and young entrepreneurs to benefit from the State and Federal Government's loans and grants.
"The council has started and will continue to provide stipends to old people, widows and physically challenged persons as captured in the last of State Operational Coordinating Unit and today we will be awarding 100 people with ₦20,000 each as support and empowerment.
"On Igbogbo-Baiyeku Road, our administration had entered into a tripartite agreement with the CDC/CDAs and Dredgers Association to commence palliative work on the road to urgently ameliorate the deplorable state of the road and the financial contribution of the council has been fulfilled.
"The council's agricultural plans and development trainings are in top gears to ensure food security and socio-economic empowerment of our people. We have decided to rebrand Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA's revenue committee. The legislature has approved the new operational arm and logo, which will take effects from today.
"The new revenue operational arm will be provided with unique uniform and single treasury account will be introduced to avoid cash payment to any individual. This will strengthen our revenue generation base, increase our resources, capacity, accountability and service delivery," Daini added.
The Chairman thanked and appreciated all residents of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA for their uncompromising support giving to his administration, saying that his team is to do more and not to take their mandate for granted.
The Legislative Leader, Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Nurudeen Alimi, talking on the importance of year 2022 Budget.
The leader of the legislative Arm, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Nurudeen Alimi, said in in his remarks that Budget is known to capture the interest of the community and that is why the Council invited stakeholders to give insight that will be documented and be use by the budget department to plan for 2022.
"This will control our spending and help to track the Council's depth and improve our growth and development in Igbogbo /Bayeku LCDA," Alimi noted.
Mainwhile, the former Deputy Governor, Lagos State and Member of Governor's Advisory Council GAC, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, said Olusesan Daini has proven to be capable of the task bestowed upon him, urging residents of Igbogbo Bayeku LCDA to support him for more successes.
Also, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, former SSG and member, Governor's Advisory Council, GAC, said he is the happiest man of the day, going by the superlative performance of the Chairman. "We have to praise him because he has made us proud and I know he will continue to make us proud," he added.
The former Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, in his Goodwill message charged the Chairman to double the speed of development in Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA. "In whatever positions you find yourself, do good because the position won't be forever, so that people will commend your good work and extend to your children when you leave office," he advised.
Ogunlewe further added to the Chairman to take the welfare of the Kings, Chiefs, Baales, widows and aged, less privileges, noting that the administration would forever be remembered. "Make provisions for the APC members, so that they can be having there meetings regularly, because any Association without meeting would not function," the Senator urged the Chairman Daini.
The representative of Ikorodu Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka, applauded Daini in his eloquent remarks, noting that the Chairman has virtually touched all the sectors.
"Concerning the request of the people must expecially on Igbogbo/ Bayeku road, I want to assure you that the year 2022 budget would fix all," He said. The Lawmaker thereafter urged residents to pay their tax accordingly.
Also, Hon. (Mrs) Adebimpe Akinsola, expressed joy and satisfaction in her comments, stating that the people of Igbogbo are very proud of him. "You have executed a good plan in the LCDA, by giving ur a befitting edifice and market of international standard.
Former HoS, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe and a Party Chieftain, Chief Adenrele Olowu, were equally in the same vein applauded the good performance of Sesan Daini, advising him to come up with proper planning on education, roads, health and every other sectors in the next three years. "It is only when you plan well that you will be able to implement your progress, and if there is any need for advise then, we are definitely available to assist," former HoS stated.
Immediately after the 2022 Budget discussion, presentation of Bursary to students and cash support to senior citizens, the attention were later shifted to LG Primary School, Igbe Degolu, Igbogbo, were a new Block of six Classrooms were commissioned by the Chairman.
Handing over of Desks and Benches, White Maker Boards, other stationeries to the 12 Primary Schools in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, to the Headteachers were done accordingly.
