It was all glitz and glamour in Igbogbo on Saturday, November 27, 2021, when the Community ends its 33rd Igbogbo Day festival in grand style. The venue, Igbogbo Sports Stadium was filled to capacity with people of high profile personalities and Indigenes of the community in attendance.
Among those, were the Chairman of the Day, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru FCA, of Lagos East Senatorial District, who was there alongside some of his friends and political associates, Otunba Teni Zacheaus; Mr Muyiwa Fagbemi, Mr Ali Bedhoum, Dr. Saheed Ibikunle and Hon. Segun Olulade, to rejoice with Igbogbo people, support the Igbogbo Town Hall project, and celebrate the 5th Coronation of Alaiyeluwa, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barrister) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.
Also, the Chairman House Committee on Defence at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Adekoge Benson, MHR, and members of iCARE Family, Hon Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka of Ikorodu Constituency II, former Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, Chairman Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Chairman Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, IDEA President and Vice, Chief (Dr.) Omotunde Ogunlaja and Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, Chairman Planning Committee 2021 Igbogbo Day, Mr Titilope Andu-Balogun, other members of the Committee and MegaXpression Media Team.

The Royal Heads in attendance are: His Royal Majesties, Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Agoro, Ranodu of Imota, Oba Abdulateef Taiwo Badru, Elejigbo of Langbasa, Oba Richard Ogunsanya, Olubeshe of Ibeshe and Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Alara of Ilara Kingdom.
Mainwhile, Clubs, Groups and Associations at the venue had enough space to sit while guests were also comfortably accommodated. Music was blaring from within the canopies leading to a cacophony of sounds, while the Bonsue fuji Star, Chief Adewale Ayuba entertained the audience with his lovely music.
While addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the Day, Sen. Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, congratulated Igbogbo Monarch, HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, on his 5th anniversary, the 33rd Igbogbo Day festival, noting that the King is a Royal colossus, who has remained consistently consistent in the progress and development of Igbogbo Kingdom.
"Coincidentally, Igbogbo is blessed with a Monarch who is well educated as a lawyer with vast experience in private and public practice before his ascension to the throne of his forefathers. I therefore enjoin all to continue giving Kabiyesi, the needed collaborative support and cooperation to foster economic prosperity for the upliftment and development of Igbogbo Kingdom," Senator Abiru opined.
Also, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, acknowledged the leadership quality of Igbogbo Monarch, stating that the annual Igbogbo Day is a rallying point for all Igbogbo indigene to pay homage to the Adeboruwa and collectively share thoughts on how to take Igbogboland to the next level of social and infrastructural development.
Earlier, the Chief Host and Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, in his eloquent message, congratulated the Igbogbo Monarch, members of IDEA and the Organisers of 2021 edition of Igbogbo Day, for the successful celebrations.
He noted that the Igbogbo Day festival had become a global tourist attraction in showcasing the cooperation and collaborative tendencies of the rich Yoruba culture, saying it as become a unifying traditional festival in the land.
Chief (Dr.) Omotunde Ogunlaja, President, Igbogbo Development Association, also in his remarks saluted the Kabiyesi, HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Kasali, and the founding fathers of Igbogbo Day Celebrations, thanking the King for the privilege giving him to serve Igbogbo Community.
"While we are revealing and enjoying celebration of this day, we must focus on the main reason while we are gathered, which is to promote the development of Igbogbo in all its ramifications, socially, educationally, commercially and in infrastructure. To that extent, we plan to build a befitting 'Igbogbo Ultra Modern Town Hall' for which we need the support of eminent personalities here present," Dr. Ogunlaja said.
Shortly after Hon. Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka and some Royal Fathers expressed their enthusiasm over the successful staging of this year's Igbogbo Day Celebrations, HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, appreciated all and revealed how he was impressed with this year's Igbogbo Day. He enjoined people at the helm of affairs to consider Igbogbo Community in the scheme of development.
Oba Kasali thanked Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his good work in Lagos State, while appealing passionately for prompt attention on the bad roads across Igbogbo Community.
“We shall continue to witness peace, progress and development in Igbogbo, Ikorodu Division and Lagos State in particular," Oba Kasali prayed.
Another side attraction was the celebration of an Outstanding Performer and a prominent Personality, Barr. Tokunbo Philips Wahab, Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Education.
Wahab, a Distinguished Guest of Honour, has worked assiduously to advance the course of growth and development in all facet of life in Lagos State.
Thereafter, the Planning Committee Chairman, Mr Titilope Andu-Balogun, gave a warm vote of thanks, before everybody took to the dancing floor.
