ROTIMI EROGBOGBO UNVEILS PLAN, AS IKODASS SETS FOR 30TH IKORODU OGA DAY CELEBRATION. | Shakiru Seidu. ...Reiterates Association's Commitment towards re-packaging, rebranding of Ikorodu to suit recent developments.

The Chairman, Ikorodu Development Association (IKODASS), Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, revealed the plans for the 30th Edition of Ikorodu Oga Day Celebration, at a Press Conference, held at Oteju Hall Ikorodu, MegaXpression Media was there.

Erogbogbo affirmed that the Association’s main goal is to make Ikorodu Oga Day compete with the likes of notable others in the world. He reiterated that the Association’s objective is not only to organise the Ikorodu Oga Day, but to continuing carrying out total re-packaging and rebranding of Ikorodu to suit recent developments in Lagos State and the world.

He explained that IKODASS under 17 Indoor Games Youth Championship was a direct outcomes of the Stakeholders meeting on Education, noting that the Association has equally successfully organized the investiture of IKODASS Ambassadors to extend the reach and penetration of Ikorodu beyond its shores.

According to him, "Ikorodu-Oga Day is a celebration after our hearts in Ikorodu, it's affords the opportunity to evaluate ourselves, review our actions, celebrate our successes, reinvigorate our culture and reunite with families and friends from far and near. It's also provides us a germane opportunity to mobilize ourselves and resources for future developmental efforts."

He further stated: "A full rundown of events for the eight days has been provided. The 30th edition will kick off on Saturday, 13th November, 2021, with Woro Carnival round the City. The Woro Train will culminate at the Palace of Ayangburen, where there shall be extravagant cultural display by various groups and a telling lecture on the significance of Woro in Ikorodu.

"On Sunday, HRM Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, shall host the Crème de la crème of the City to a sumptuous Royal Banquet at Ikorodu Town Hall. Four illustrious individuals who have done us proud shall be honoured with Achievers' Award. A Seminal Book on the founding President of IKODASS, the first Asiwaju of Ikorodu, Chief B.O Benson SAN, shall equally be released.

"Also, Timeout with Octogenarian: a dedicated programme for Senior Citizens, focused on their security, health, diet and general engagement. There would be Stakeholders meeting on Education with all Stakeholders in Education Sector, to discuss the challenges and possible solutions to education in Ikorodu under the theme, 'Education in Ikorodu, Another Look'."

Mainwhile, Food festival, past leaders and local diet, Youths and Children's day, paying homage to Kabiyesi and Ikorodu public service day will all come up day by day before the Grand Finale on Saturday, 20th November, at the Palace of Ayangburen Ikorodu, where Scholarships, Awards and Get- Together of Clubs and Associations would take place, MegaXpression Media reports.

Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
