IGBOGBO DAY 2021: 400 RESIDENTS ENJOY FREE HEALTH-CARE, AS ORGANISERS DID SURGERIES FOR 5 INDIVIDUALS. | Shakiru Seidu. ..Gives food palliative, 'Apo Aanu' to 100 Households. ...It's to ensure people of Igbogbo lives a healthy life, Dr. Andu Abdulfatai reveals.
The Sub-Committee on Health and Welfare of year 2021 Igbogbo Day Celebrations, in its determination to ensure that all the residents in Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, irrespective of their socio-cultural and economic difference, have access to affordable, equitable and quality healthcare, was on November 24, gave free healthcare to over 400 people living with one illness or the other.
The Chairman, Sub-Committee on Health and Welfare, Dr Andu Abdulfatai Ademola, said to MegaXpression Media that the gesture is in commemoration of this year's Igbogbo Day Celebrations, and it's to ensure that the people of Igbogbo lives a healthy life.
"We have carried out surgeries for 5 beneficiaries after successful screening, 3 Hernia repairs and 2 Excision Biopsies was done free and all the patients are well and healthy after the surgery.
"Today, we have also attended to over 400 individuals for free on various illnesses, ranging from Hypertension, Diabetic Mellitus, Arthritis, Malaria, Upper respiratory tract infection and others ailments, and we gave free consultations and drugs.
"We equally carried out free blood glucose check, free blood pressure check, free malaria test, free Hepatitis B screening test, free Eye glasses to 50 people with corrective refractive errors, free family planning service to over 50 people after counseling which include IUCD, Jaddel implant, Oral contraceptives etc, to prevent unwanted pregnancy with children by choice not by chance.
"Deworming of 50 children to increase the health of children in the community, distribution of 100 bags of Apo Anu to Indigents of Igbogbo /Baiyeku LCDA with support from iCARE Foundation of Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson," Dr Andy stated.
He thereafter thanked HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, for the opportunity giving him to serve his community, while appreciated the financial and material supports of some individuals and organizations.
