BABAJIMI BENSON DONATES THREE CLASSROOMS TO OWODE/IBESHE COMMUNITY, ASSURES OF MORE QUALITY REPRESENTATION. | Shakiru Seidu.
The joy of the people of Owode/Ibeshe community in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA of Lagos State, knew no bound as a three-classroom block built by a member of the National Assembly, Hon Babajimi Benson, was handed over to Ibelefun primary school.
The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, HRM Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali, Olubeshe of Ibeshe, HRM Oba Richard Ogunsanya, GAC member, Chief Olorunfunmi Basorun, APC East Senatorial Vice Chairman, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, former Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola, member LSHA, Hon Nurudeen Sholaja, Chairmen Igbogbo/Bayeku and Imota LCDAs, Comr Olusesan Daini and Prince Wasiu Agoro, the head teacher, teachers an pupils of Ibelefun Primary School, Owode/Ibeshe, commended the initiative of Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, saying it was worth celebrating.
Recall that many of the primary schools in the state are in deplorable state and are crying for government attention.
In his welcome address, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, said the new classroom block will help the pupils to learn under a conducive atmosphere and it will guarantee a brighter future for all the pupils of the school, sighting of the product of the school, Peter who left the school with excellent results. Chief Kaoli further enjoined the parent to take care of their children.
Benson, who represents Ikorodu Federal Constituency, during the hand-over, charged the school authority to make good use of the classrooms. The erudite legislator said that the block of classrooms was built and equipped with chairs and tables, to aid teaching and learning in a serene and conducive atmosphere.
According to him, "this is the 8th blocks classrooms facilitated by me in Ikorodu Division. There is no doubt that the new block of classrooms will go a long way to make teaching and learning attractive to the teachers and the pupils.
Other APC leaders in attendance also commended the lawmaker for making life easy for the people of Ikorodu Division. They appealed to the state government to attend to other urgent areas in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, such as good and motorable roads, provision of constant light and other amenities that would make life meaningful for them in the LCDA.
Also, the head teacher of the school, appreciated the kind gesture of Hon Babajimi Benson. While speaking with Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Magazine, she said: “The new block of classrooms will assist us in many ways because they are very good. We will be teaching the children under a conducive atmosphere, our job will be easier. We have been using chalk before, but now, we will be using markers.
“We will not be teaching our pupils under the rain again because the roofs of the old classrooms have been blown off, the old classrooms leak whenever it rains.” She added.
