EXCITEMENT IN IGBOGBO, AS iCARE FOODBANK OF HON BABAJIMI BENSON GIVES FOOD ITEMS TO 100 PEOPLE, IN CELEBRATION OF IGBOGBO DAY. | Shakiru Seidu.

As part of the 30th anniversary celebration of Igbogbo Day, Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, has again extended his magnanimity to the sub-committee on welfare of Igbogbo Day, by giving food items, tagged 'APO ANU' to 100 aged people in Igbogbo. The event which took place at Adeboruwa Palace, Igbogbo on Friday, saw laughter on the faces of the beneficiaries as they were showering prayers and encomium on Hon. Babajimi Benson and iCARE foundation.

Speaking through one of the principal members of iCARE Team, Mr AbdulRasheed Aregbe, Hon Babajimi Benson, thanked the people of Igbogbo and enjoined them to celebrate a peaceful Igbogbo Day anniversary. He thereafter solicited for their continuous support and prayers to enable him do more than what he is doing presently.

The iCARE Coordinator in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Alhaji W.A. Yusuf, in his remarks also tendered sincere appreciation to the people of Igbogbo for their unflinching support on Hon Babajimi Benson and wished them well in all their future endeavours.

"Without any iota of doubt, Hon. Babajimi Benson has made name for himself yet again and of which Ikorodu Division will not forget in a hurry," this was revealed by Chief Esumade, one of the Adeboruwa Chiefs, while addressing the gathering. The Chief applauded the uncommon gesture of Hon. Benson and urged him not to relent in his genuineness and passion for Ikorodu Division.

Speaking to one of the beneficiaries, Madam Ayinke Adeleke, expressed her profound gratitude to Hon. Babajimi Benson, his wife and the entire iCARE Team for their uncommon gesture and prayed for God's guidance in their future endeavours.

Shortly after the pleasant remarks, the distribution of the food items began by Mr Yusuf and Aregbe with smiles of relief on the faces of the beneficiaries.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo
