The most celebrated festival in Igbogbo community of Lagos State, which attracts millions of people annually, Igbogbo Day, has been billed to hold between today, Friday, November 16 and November 25.
According to information made available to MegaXpression Magazine, the festival would kick off with 'Iwure' at Adeboruwa Palace, follow by Press briefing by 11am, Special Jumat Prayer by 1pm and Dinner with Adeboruwa later in the day by 6pm at Mikky Onas Event Centre Igbogbo.
An important aspect of the weeklong celebration geared towards raising of funds comes up on Saturday, November 24.
Different activities have also been lined up before grand finale on Saturday, November 24 at the Igbogbo Sports Stadium to climax the celebration.
Society buffs, Royal fathers, Lagos State government officials and eminent Nigerians are expected to grace the festival.
Chairman of the festival, Engr Femi Kalejaye, while speaking to Shakiru Seidu, confirmed that this year’s edition would be grand, as it marks the 30th anniversary.
“We have concluded arrangements to celebrate this year’s festival to high heavens, because the positive socio-cultural and economic achievements of the past have encouraged us to keep the flag of Igbogbo Day flying, in line with the collective aspirations of the people of Igbogbo and its environs." He said.
