Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR, while being engaged by Barr. Jimoh Hamzat, during the celebration of his 50th Birthday, powered by the youths of Ikorodu Division.

The Lawmaker representing Ikorodu federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, MHR, has charged the youths of his constituents to improve on capacity building, skill up and take advantage of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution.

The lawmaker who stated this in Ikorodu, during his 50th Birthday celebration, powered by the youths of Ikorodu Division, said that the ICT revolution had no barrier of frontiers and can help the youths of Ikorodu Division out of the unemployment market, MegaXpression Media reports.

Benson said the attitude of youths of nowadays have been an issue that always troubles his mind, and he has come to realize that there is a need for new thinking and orientation to defeat the monster.

"Given the reality of things in our country today, the greatest empowerment one can get is practical trainings and skills that are relevant to the needs of our people,” the Lawmaker opined.

Benson, further noted that capacity building had a critical role in the life of youths, saying he had sponsored many trainings as a demonstration of his strong belief in building youths as a major driver of development in Ikorodu federal Constituency.

Mainwhile, the former Cleck of the Lagos State House of Assembly and immediate past Chairman of IKODASS, Otunba Fuwagbuyi Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru, commended the uncommon representation of Rep. Babajimi Benson, insisting that the Lawmaker has been the best Politician he had ever seen in the history of Ikorodu Division.

"Jimi Benson is humble, generous, empathetic, kind hearted and a proud ambassador of Lagos State and Ikorodu Division in particular," Abiru remarked.

In the same vein, Abiru further charged the youths of Ikorodu Division to wake up from their slumber and stop being indolence and claiming to be marginalised. He said the Youths of today can change things positively. Urged them to come together as one, desist from being used as tugs and shun politics of sentiment.

Dr. Saheed Ibikunle, Member Lagos SUBEB, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, Chairman Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, and Dr. Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, senior lecturer at Lagos State University, LASU, were all appreciated and congratulated Benson on his 50th Birthday, commending him for his quality representation in Ikorodu federal Constituency.

Members of National Youth Council if Nigeria, NYCN of Ikorodu Division, Councillors forum Ikorodu Division, APC Youth Leaders, iCARE family members, past and present political Office holders, Council Chairmen, among many others were in attendance.
