The Chief Imam, Magida Central Mosque, Ebute/ Ibeshe in Ikorodu, Imam Nurudeen Ibn Quadri, has enjoined Muslims and other Nigerians to use the Holy month of Ramadan to pray for their Leaders, and purify their souls away from evil acts, as this will reduce the high moral decadence prevailing in Nigerian society.

Speaking during the 1st Ramadan lecture powered by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Imam Quadri said the heart is the troubled part of the body that makes or mars the society, adding that if those who do evil or causes their leaders had a clean heart, they will surely desist from doing such.

While urging the leaders to rule with the fear of Allah, the guest lecturer enjoined all to keep praying for them, noting that Nigeria is one of the favoured Nations in the world. He further stated that continuous admonition would increase ethical values that is missing in the society.

He added that Ramadan has come to remind, enlighten and teach Muslims their obligations to Almighty Allah during and after Ramadan. “The Holy month cleanses our hearts to continue to do what is right at all times,” Imam Quadri opined.

Mainwhile, the House of Assembly Member, representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Nurudeen Saka-Sholaja, the Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, High Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya and the Publisher of Oriwu Sun Newspaper, Alhaji Monzor Olowosago, equally appealed to all, to embark on the goodness that can be remembered for, reiterating that no matter the level of decadency in the society, an act of goodness done for the sake of Allah will always prevail as Allah is a kind God.

The Ramadan lecture equally witnessed the presence of Adeboruwa-in-Council, Muslim Clerics, Permanent Secretaries, Igbogbo/Bayeku Council Executive members, Councillors, Lagos House of Assembly Aspirants, business Moguls, Alasalatus, among others.
