The residence of APC chieftain and member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, was filled to capacity as stakeholders across Ikorodu Constituency II gathered to endorse Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, popularly known as AMA, for a second term bid to represent Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The high-profile political gathering attracted notable party leaders and stakeholders, including the Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, members of his cabinet, former Council Chairmen, past and present Councillors within Ikorodu Constituency II, Justice Forum leaders in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Party Executives, members of the AMA Smiles Foundation, and several other party faithful.
Speaking at the gathering, Omo'ba Aroyewun reaffirmed his confidence in the lawmaker and commended Party leaders for supporting AMA’s re-election ambition. He described the legislator as a “sellable candidate” whose performance and popularity continue to resonate with the people.
The Council Chairman further assured Party leaders that Igbogbo/ Baiyeku LCDA would remain committed to the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels.
In his remarks, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro expressed appreciation to Party members and Constituents for the opportunity given to him to serve. He noted that his visit was to formally inform APC members of his intention to seek another term in office and to solicit their support during the party primaries.
The lawmaker also assured party faithful that after securing the party’s ticket, he would return to present a comprehensive account of his achievements and contributions while in office.
In a strong show of support, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun openly declared his satisfaction with AMA’s performance in office. Demonstrating his preparedness and endorsement, the APC apex leader presented an 18-page printed compilation detailing the lawmaker’s achievements, while publicly affirming his backing for AMA’s second term aspiration.
The endorsement reached its climax when a motion for the return of Hon. Aro to the Lagos State House of Assembly was moved by former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Oshin, and seconded by former Council leader, Hon. Bosun Agoro. The motion received overwhelming approval from the large gathering of party stakeholders and supporters.
Special prayers were later offered for the lawmaker by Mrs. Comfort Dawodu, Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), and Alhaji Toyin Raji, a Justice Forum leader, who both prayed for continued success and wisdom for the legislator.
Earlier in the day, Hon. Aro had also visited the Olowu/Kaoli Caucus of The Mandate Movement, where leaders and members of the group equally endorsed his re-election bid, further strengthening support for his second term ambition.
