The representative for Ikorodu Federal Constituency, and Chairman House Committee on Defence, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has formally declared his intention to seek re-election, following a high-level engagement with party leaders and stakeholders from his Ward, Ward C4, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, held Thursday at his Constituency Office.
The meeting, convened to chart the course for the constituency's future, provided the perfect backdrop for the dynamic lawmaker to declare his intention to seek re-election to the House of Representatives, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency for another term.
Addressing attendees, Benson outlined plans to sustain what he described as “purposeful representation, strategic development, and people-centred interventions” across the Division.
The APC Chairman of the Ward C4, Decoders Abosede Olugbade, and other stakeholders present at the engagement expressed strong support for the move, delivering a unanimous vote of confidence in Benson’s leadership. Those unable to attend in person participated virtually and sent messages of encouragement, reaffirming their alignment with the vision for a “Greater Ikorodu.”
A recurring theme at the gathering was the collective resolve to advance Ikorodu’s development until it achieves the status of the “Miami of Lagos” — a modern, economically vibrant, and globally respected Division.
Benson further expressed gratitude for the trust and support shown by the people of Ikorodu federal Constituency, pledging to continue building infrastructure, expanding opportunities, and delivering sustainable progress across all communities in Ikorodu Federal Constituency if re-elected.
The 2027 general elections are expected to feature competitive contests across Lagos State, with Ikorodu Federal Constituency drawing significant political attention.
