Hundreds of vulnerable residents across Ikorodu Federal Constituency benefited from the May 2026 edition of the Apo Aanu Food Support Initiative facilitated by Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, as the monthly welfare programme once again delivered relief and support to residents facing economic hardship.
The distribution exercise, held at the lawmaker’s constituency office in Ikorodu, drew a large turnout of beneficiaries, including elderly men and women, widows, youths, low-income earners, and other vulnerable members of the constituency. Organised through the iCare Foundation, the initiative provided food support packages aimed at easing the burden of the current economic realities on struggling households.
In addition to the food distribution, the programme featured a free medical outreach facilitated by a supporter of the iCare Foundation family. The health initiative catered to members, friends, and associates of the Foundation, offering basic medical screenings and health checks to promote wellness and health consciousness within the community.
The event attracted several prominent personalities and stakeholders across Ikorodu Division, including Alhaji Kolawole Fatai, Executive Chairman of Imota LCDA, Hon. Sunday Benson, Party leaders, Community Development Association representatives, and members of the iCare Foundation who coordinated the exercise.
Stakeholders at the programme commended Rep. Benson for sustaining what they described as one of the most consistent grassroots welfare interventions in Ikorodu Division. They noted that the monthly initiative has become a dependable support system for many residents and families navigating difficult economic conditions.
Beneficiaries who spoke during the exercise expressed appreciation to the lawmaker and the iCare Foundation, describing the intervention as timely, impactful, and deeply beneficial to vulnerable households across the constituency.
