Wife of the Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode on Wednesday enjoined residents of the state, to always go for medical check-up and engage in physical exercise, for good health and early diagnosis of medical conditions. KIDNAP KINGPIN, EVANS PLEADS GUILTY AS LAGOS ARRAIGNS HIM, OTHERS IN COURT. | Shakiru Seidu. …Suspects Remanded In Prison Pending Trial

The Lagos State Government on Wednesday arraigned kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans before an Ikeja High Court for masterminding series of high profile kidnapping in the State. Evans, who was arrested at his mansion in Magodo area of the State after being on wanted list of the police for long, was arraigned on a two-count charge before Justice Hakeem Oshodi alongside five other members of his gang. Other defendants are Uche Amadi (m), Ogechi Uchechukwu (f), Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu (m), Chilaka Ifeanyi (m) and Victor Chukwunonso Aduba (m). After the matter was called, the prosecution team led by the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adeniji Kazeem told the court of the criminal charge already filed against the defendants, and applied that it be read to them. LAKE RICE: RESIDENTS LAUD AMBODE, AS GOVT BEGINS SALE AT DESIGNATED CENTRES. | Shakiru Seidu.

The Lagos State Government on Thursday commenced the sale of Lake Rice in designated centres as announced for the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration. In most of the sale centres visited, residents were seen queuing up and buying the item in orderly manner. 50kg of the rice was sold for N12,000, 25kg for N6,000 and 10kg for N2500. It was also observed that residents were allowed to buy just one bag each per person. At the Agricultural Development Authority (ADA) in Agege, one of the designated sale centres, residents were seen buying the item. Speaking after buying the item, a Vetinary Doctor, Mr Bayo Olufunwa commended the orderly manner with which the sale was handled, saying that it did not take him too long to buy the rice.
