JIMI BENSON EMPOWERS 30 YOUTHS WITH AGRIBUSINESS SKILLS. ...Says it's aimed to give youths a platform to become employers of labour.

Member, House of Reps., representing Ikorodu federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Defence, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has empowered 30 youths in different agricultural areas at the Nigerian Army Resettlement Centre, Oshodi, Lagos State. 50 participants were said to be enrolled but only 30 made it to the training venue on the commencement day due to the EndSars protest. Room and board were equally catered for throughout the training. According to the erudite lawmaker, he said this year's training is the first batch and it'll be a biannual event, noting that his choice for a knowledge- based empowerment programme for youths in Ikorodu Federal Constituency was geared towards making them economic giants. Benson, who spoke during the presentation of certificates and take off fund to the 30 youth trainees, noted that the training programme which was powered by him and his iCARE Foundation, was a shift from common ways of empowering youths, instead of equipping them

The Ikorodu Development Association, IKODASS, on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, revealed its plans for the 29th edition of Ikorodu Oga Day Celebration. LAGOS STATE GOVT ORDERS CLOSURE OF SCHOOLS OVER 'ENDSARS' PROTEST. ...Says a new date of resumption will be announced as soon as possible.

The Lagos State Government has directed all pupils/students in public and private schools to stay at home following the tension generated by the anti- SARS protests. Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, who issued the directive today, said the safety of the pupils/students, parents and all staff working in schools is paramount at this critical period. She however advised parents to keep an eye on their wards and not allow them to be used as willing tools in the hands of those who might want to hijack the protests to unleash mayhem on the society. The Commissioner also encouraged schools to utilize other means of distance teaching and learning i.e radio, television and online media as they have been doing during and post the recent COVID-19 lockdown. The Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA of Lagos State, Bldr. Olusesan Mayokun Daini, on Saturday joined the youths of the LCDA in the 'End SARS' protest. Daini marched along with the crowd that convened at the Igbogbo Sports Stadium and drove round the LCDA, with different inscriptions on the placards.
