The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has declared President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the Presidential Election held on Saturday the 23rd of February, 2019. Professor Yakubu made the declaration at the end of the national results collation held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria's Capital. He however, noted that President Buhari has met all requirements of constitution and is hereby returned. President Muhammadu Buhari had a total vote of 15,191,847 to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party's candidate, Atiku Abubakar who had a total of 11,262,978 votes. REPS ELECTION: BABAJIMI BENSON OF APC WINS IKORODU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY WITH WIDE MARGIN. | Shakiru Seidu.

Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Sunday emerged winner at the Ikorodu Federal Constituency of Lagos State, in the House of Representatives election held on Saturday, February 23, 2019. INEC Returning Officer declared results at the Ikorodu Collation Centre. JB, as he's popularly called by numerous followers, won by getting 42,963 votes while  Disu Ramota Omotola  of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, came second with 19,825 votes. Babajimi Benson won the PDP candidate with over 20,000 different to emerge victorious. Residents of Apakin/Gberigbe Community in Ikorodu Local Government, at the weekend leaped for joy as Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, Commissioned A-500KVA Transformer donated to Apakin/Gberigbe CDA in response to their Agitation. For so long, the community had been in darkness due to unavailability of transformer. Residents' several efforts to draw attention of relevant authorities to their plight had proved abortive. Hon Babajimi Benson, who made the donation said that the gesture was in line with the demands of the people. He said that the transformer is being installed at strategic location to check the erratic power supply in Apakin/Gberigbe CDA and its envrions. The programme, since its inception has no doubt given succor to the less privileges, disables, elderly persons and other people in needs through the monthly distribution of food.
