Following the introduction of more preventive measures by the federal and State governments to break the cycle of transmission of the novel coronavirus across the country, the Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. S.O.B Agunbiade, said it has become clear that staying at home may be for a long time.  Hon. Agunbiade, who is currently out of the country for medical reasons stated that this measures followed the confirmation of additional coronavirus cases across the nation on Monday, with more confirmed in Lagos, bringing the total nationwide to 131 as at today. HON. BENSON EMPOWERS HUNDREDS WITH SKILLS, START-UPS DRIVE IN IKORODU. ...says it's aimed at making constituents self reliant, self sufficient.

The House of Representatives member, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency of Lagos State, Hon. Babajimi Adekoge Benson has again organized Skills Acquisition training in conjunction with Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority, NEPZA, for some members of his constituency.  The 250 beneficiaries, who are predominately women and youths from different religious groups, CDAs, market women, political circuit, Artisans, amongst the rest across Ikorodu Division, were given reasonable start-up capital and certificates at a graduating ceremony held at Funcity Complex, in Ikorodu. The one week intensive training which was arranged in batches to observe the Social distancing and maximum of 20 people per gathering, to forestall the spreading of Coronavirus Pandemic, saw the 250 students graduated in different areas of skills acquisition such as; Hand Sanitisers, liquid Soap, Paint making, Air freshener, among others. CORONAVIRUS: FEDERAL LAWMAKER COUNSELS RESIDENTS OF IKORODU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY, SAYS NIGERIA WILL PREVAIL.

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Adekoge Benson, has advised his constituents not to dismiss the dangers posed by the suspected presence of the deadly coronavirus in the state. Benson, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency of Lagos State, gave the advice on Tuesday in Ikorodu, in a statement made available to MegaXpression Community News.  He encouraged his constituents and the residents of Lagos State at large to heed the expert advice of regular washing of hands with soap, social distancing and the use of hand sanitisers. As the National Sports Festival, Edo 2020 is fast approaching, the Lagos State Team is not leaving any stone unturned, by being involved in rigorous training at the Ikorodu Camp in preparation for the tournament, both day and night in order to win more medals than before.  According to Idris Aminat, a Taekwondo fighter, while speaking with MegaXpression Community News, "we have being at Ikorodu camp since Sunday, March 8. No doubt, the environment is very good, we have been training and eating. Our coach are doing well, the training ground and the equipments provided for the trainings are awesome. Over 500 individuals and vulnerable families in needs across Ikorodu federal Constituency were as usual on Saturday benefited from the March 2020 edition of iCARE Foodbank programme, an initiative of iCare Foundation of Hon. Babajimi Adekoge Benson, Member, House of Representatives.  iCARE Foodbank, a nonprofit charitable organization that buys food and grocery products and redistributes the items in a bag called ‘APO AANU or ‘MERCY BAG’ to less privileges. While addressing the beneficiaries, the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Coordinator of iCARE Foundation, Alhaji W.A Yusuf, welcomed all and prayed for financial breakthrough in the life of the beneficiaries. "I pray you will all be in position to cater for someone else in the coming future", he said. The initiator and sponsor of iCARE Foodbank, Hon. Babajimi Benson, said in his remarks that the initiative was designed to prevent his constituents, particularly the aged ones from going to bed without food. "What we are
