COMMOTION IN IBESHE AS OKADA RIDERS PROTEST KILLING OF COLLEAGUE BY POLICEMAN OVER N50. | Shakiru Seidu. Babajimi Benson, Olusesan Daini, Mathew Arowolo, others appeal for peace.

Members of Okada riders took over Owode/Ibeshe this morning, burning tyres and attempting to set ablaze the Owode Police Station, Ibeshe, protesting the killing of one of their members by Police officers over N50. According to information gathered by MegaXpression Magazine, the Okada rider, was said to have been stopped by Police officer, who later tried to escape to avoid giving N50 to the officer. It was this attitude that was allegedly said prompted the Police officer to throw stick at Okada which eventually led the Okada rider to conceive fatal accident around 10pm yesterday. It was also revealed to our correspondent that the Okada rider was immediately rushed to the Holy Trinity Hospital, Ipakodo, by his colleagues before he finally gave up this morning. This was said to have led the aggrieved Okada riders to launch an attack on Owode Police Station, Ibeshe this morning. AMBODE CELEBRATES DEMOCRACY DAY WITH SPECIAL RAMADAN TAFSIR IN EPE. | Shakiru Seidu. Vows to continue to make Lagos State a better place for the citizens.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Tuesday evening celebrated Democracy Day with Muslim faithful, saying despite all that had been achieved in the past, Lagos was still a work in progress, and that conscious efforts would continue to be made to further invest in infrastructural development to make life easier for the citizens.   Governor Ambode, who spoke at a special Ramadan Tafsir and prayer held in Epe to commemorate the three years of his administration and Democracy Day, justified the massive infrastructural renewal across the length and breadth of the State, explaining that the huge investment in upgrading and providing amenities for the people was part of the greater vision towards making Lagos a smart city. Adekeye Ayomide, a student of Sun Stars College, Ikorodu, on Monday, 28th of May, 2018, at Fun City, Ikorodu, emerged the winner of the inaugural spelling Bee Competition in Ikorodu. Adekeye, a SSS 1 student competed with other 17 contestants at the grand finale, after 36 of them had earlier contested in the preliminary on May 19. Adekeye Ayomide, Akingbade Ifeoluwa, Hassan Rofiat and Alagbe Fareed took the first, second, third and fourth positions respectively. The programme which was organized in commemoration of the 2018 Children's Day celebration saw the winners and other 32 participants, receiving school bags, scrabbles, dictionaries, calculators, and Orushen books, written by Princess Aderoju Ladega. Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday described the security of lives and property of residents as the biggest achievement of his administration in the last three years, saying it was gratifying to note that the State is now the safest in Africa. Speaking at the commissioning of a Forward Operating Base (FOB) of the Nigerian Army in Epe, Governor Ambode said the combined investment of his administration in the security architecture of the State and efforts of security agencies had resulted in peaceful atmosphere for residents and visitors. Adetoro, who is of the Faculty of Management Sciences, was announced as the best graduating student at the 22nd convocation ceremony held at the Auditorium Complex of the University in Ojo having scored CGPA 4.78.
