IGBOGBO STUDENTS' UNION WORKSHOP BRINGS STAKEHOLDERS TOGETHER. | Shakiru Seidu.

On Tuesday, 1st of May, 2018, the Igbogbo Students' Union hosted a workshop to support the students of Igbogbo in developing their knowledge and connecting their career to topics relating to better life.
       
In the superlative speeches of the two guest speakers, Mr Toyeeb Sanni and Hameed Sholanke, they affirmed that the students of Igbogbo are well endowed with diverse natural resources and If these natural resources can be properly harnessed and managed cautiously, Igbogbo will be a better place for all. They further urged the students not to relent on their studies, eschewed laziness and remain committed to the growth of Igbogbo community.

While addressing the gathering, Mr Shakiru Seidu, owner of MegaXpression Magazine, enjoined the Students of Igbogbo to restore the loss natural image in the community. "I hope this workshop was born out of desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of our community, that is comparable with that of advanced cities," he said. 

He further said the likes of Chief Olatunji Bakare, Chief Olorunfunmi Basorun, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, among others, started as members of Igbogbo Students' Union and advised the students to copy good things from them. Shakiru also challenged the students of Igbogbo community to live a purposeful life with good character and enjoined them not to compromise in impacting the society positively.

In his eloquent remarks, Mr Biliaminu Oba, owner of South West Focus, enjoined the students to be determined and charged them to be more proactive towards their future endeavours.

Among those that attended the workshop were Shakiru Seidu, Publisher, MegaXpression Magazine, Mr Hameed Sholanke, Mr Toyeeb Sanni, Mr Billiaminu Oba, CEO, South West Focus, leadership of Igbogbo Students' Union, led by Miss Comfort Olafare, the first female President of the Union.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo

In continuation of its resolve to be a resource and think-tank team for good governance, articulation of developmental ideas and promotion of people centered initiatives, The Apex Leadership of The Mandate Movement  (TMM) cleavage met in Lagos to discuss and review current political issues and situation in the country. The group commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the bold initiatives of his administration, some of which are; i) Continuous engagement of the Leadership of the Nigerian Labour Unions towards finding a compromise to the minimum wage imbroglio. ii) Waivers/relaxation of import duties and tariffs on some food items importation for six months to cushion the effects of food shortages and high prices. iii) The landmark Supreme Court’s ruling on the right of the Local Government tier of government to financial autonomy, an outcome of a suit instituted by the attorney-general of the federation and a judicial decisio
