On Tuesday, 1st of May, 2018, the Igbogbo Students' Union hosted a workshop to support the students of Igbogbo in developing their knowledge and connecting their career to topics relating to better life.
In the superlative speeches of the two guest speakers, Mr Toyeeb Sanni and Hameed Sholanke, they affirmed that the students of Igbogbo are well endowed with diverse natural resources and If these natural resources can be properly harnessed and managed cautiously, Igbogbo will be a better place for all. They further urged the students not to relent on their studies, eschewed laziness and remain committed to the growth of Igbogbo community.
While addressing the gathering, Mr Shakiru Seidu, owner of MegaXpression Magazine, enjoined the Students of Igbogbo to restore the loss natural image in the community. "I hope this workshop was born out of desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of our community, that is comparable with that of advanced cities," he said.
He further said the likes of Chief Olatunji Bakare, Chief Olorunfunmi Basorun, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, among others, started as members of Igbogbo Students' Union and advised the students to copy good things from them. Shakiru also challenged the students of Igbogbo community to live a purposeful life with good character and enjoined them not to compromise in impacting the society positively.
In his eloquent remarks, Mr Biliaminu Oba, owner of South West Focus, enjoined the students to be determined and charged them to be more proactive towards their future endeavours.
Among those that attended the workshop were Shakiru Seidu, Publisher, MegaXpression Magazine, Mr Hameed Sholanke, Mr Toyeeb Sanni, Mr Billiaminu Oba, CEO, South West Focus, leadership of Igbogbo Students' Union, led by Miss Comfort Olafare, the first female President of the Union.
