3RD CORONATION ANNIVERSARY: GLITZ, ENCOMIUM AS AYANGBUREN OF IKORODU CONFERS OTUNBA TITLES ON HIS SUBJECTS. | Shakiru Seidu

It was a gathering of who’s who at the Palace of Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom in Ikorodu Local Government, when His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi bestowed the title of Otunba on some of his subjects in celebration of his 3rd coronation anniversary. At the conferment ceremony, the monarch explained that conferring a chieftaincy title on both an indigene or non-indigene of Ikorodu was an indication that such a recipient has reached a matured age.

The Monarch therefore charged the newly installed Otunbas to be prepared to contribute more towards the development of the community. According to him, "to whom much is given, much is expected."

The new Otunbas are: Otunba Olugbenga Mondiu Ajenise-Kuti, Otunba Efuewu of Ikorodu.
Otunba Wasiu Tiwalade Odofin.
Otunba Kamarudeen Ogunfowora Ojora, Otunba Onadugba of Ikorodu.
Otunba Solomon Oluwole Adebayo Sanni, Otunba Adenoun of Ikorodu.
Otunba Kadiri Adetunji Owoyele, Otunba Kuyinu of Ikorodu.

According to Otunba Olugbenga Ajenise-Kuti while speaking with Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression magazine, “I feel honoured. I am so happy and thanked Oba Shotobi and Almighty Allah. I promised to expand my benevolence to the people Ikorodu because I am now one of the Otunbas. My promise to my people and Allah is that I am going to do more.”

The conferment also witnessed the presence of other Royal Heads from Ikorodu Division. Ranodu of Imota, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Obateru of Egbin Royal Kingdom, among others were in attendance.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
