3RD CORONATION ANNIVERSARY: OBA SHOTOBI CONFERS CHIEFTAINCY TITLES ON MARKET LEADERS, SUES FOR PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE AMONG THEM. | Shakiru Seidu. "Don't be desperate, shun hate speeches", Otunba Abiru urges the political players of Ikorodu Division.
The traditional head of Ikorodu and paramount ruler of Ikorodu Division, HRM Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Ayangberen of Ikorodu has said that for a community to have any meaningful development, the people must be committed to issues of peace and unity. He advised the market women of Ikorodu to ensure they cooperate with one another in order to take the community to greater heights.
Oba Shotobi gave the advice while celebrating his third year coronation anniversary and conferment of chieftaincy titles to 16 market women leaders and other illustrious sons of the kingdom.
While addressing the gathering, the Chairman of Ikorodu Development Association, IKODASS and East Senatorial Aspirant, Otunba Ganiu Olusegun Abiru, congratulated the Monarch, Oba Shotobi, for his leadership wisdom in handling the mantle of Ikorodu Division.
He enjoined the political players in Ikorodu Division to see themselves as one and maintain peaceful coexistence. "Political violence is the leading cause of wars today. Personal agendas have led to many of the political objectives that cause violence in our Community. Political groups must worry about convincing the majority to love their principal. Those who try to influence the majority through acts of violence are considered today as 'terror' group". Abiru said.
He therefore urged all, while speaking with Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression magazine, to embrace peace and drop 'do or die politics for the betterment of Ikorodu Division.
