3RD CORONATION ANNIVERSARY OF OBA SHOTOBI KICKS-OFF IN GRAND STYLE, AS GROUPS DISPLAY CULTURAL PERFORMANCE | Shakiru Seidu. Royal heads, High Chiefs, traditionalists, others, in attendance.

The Ayangburen Palace of Ikorodu witnessed a large turnout today, Thursday, August 2, 2018, to kick start the 3rd Coronation Anniversary celebration of His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu. The Palace was full to capacity, as the traditional Chiefs paid homage to the Monarch.

After, was the historic performance displayed by different traditional groups while entertaining Monarchs and the guests in attendance with several traditional display. Among which were the Osugbo, Awo-Opa, Koori, ASA, Agemo, among others.

While speaking with MegaXpression Magazine, the head of 'Awo Opa' group, rejoiced with the King, Oba Shotobi, and acquainted the indigenes of Ikorodu to remain resolute, take the advantage of the celebration to promote the cultural value and not to relent towards the agitation for development of Ikorodu community. He further enjoined all to embrace peaceful coexistence among one another.

The Coronation Anniversary which started today is enriched with different programmes till 12th of August, 2018. The ceremony will also witness the commissioning of the New Palace Extension by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Saturday 11th of August.

Among those in attendance today were His Royal Majesty, Oba AbdulAkeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, Otunba Ayodele Elesho, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Alhaja Tairat Agunbiade, among others.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo
