A political group and grassroot leaders from South West Nigeria, has reaffirmed their dedication to rallying support for the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the right presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, who they believe will uphold true federalism.

Visiting the Palace of Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom on Wednesday, the group which identifies as the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) expressed confidence that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the right candidate to emerge from the South for 2023 presidential elections, owing to his past record of identifying persons with true leadership skills, MegaXpression Media was there.

According to the Chairman of Directorate for Strategy and Planning, Alhaji Hameed Olaofe, said the APC leader has shown over time that he is for everyone. He gave an instance of when Tinubu was the Governor of Lagos State, stating that he was fair to all.

“He is going to serve the people of Nigeria. He has demonstrated this as the Governor of Lagos State. He believes in true federalism and has the political capacity to push that. We are clamouring for Tinubu but he is not going there to serve Yoruba interests only.

"We have taken this crusade to most Royal Fathers across the South Western Nigeria, amongst which are Ooni of Ife, Alaafin of Oyo, Alake of Egbaland, Deji of Akure, Ataoja of Osogbo, Osemowe of Ondo, Olubadan of Ibadan, Oluwo of Iwo, and other notable royal Heads. Stating that Tinubu will bring out the best in people which is a hallmark of good governance," Olaofe revealed.

The Chairman of SWAGA, Lagos State Chapter, Primate Charles Odugbesi, in his speech affirmed that the Chairmen in the six States of South-West, (i.e Osun, Ondo, Oyo, Ekiti, Ogun, and Lagos States) have come together to urge Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come out to be the next Nigeria President, noting that he's the ripe Candidate for the position.

"Before Tinubu emerged as Governor, Lagos State was tagged the most dirtiest State in Nigeria and when he came, he made the State better. So we believe if he emerge as the President of Nigeria, he will surely make Nigeria better as well." Odugbesi said.

The Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Chieftaincy Matters and Head of Directorates of SWAGA, Lagos State, Mr Bayo Oshinyemi, while addressing Ayangburen- in-Council said, the purpose of visiting the Palace is to thank the Kabiyesi for his leading role played so far on Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

"In the wisdom of our Royal fathers in the South-West Nigeria, they have joined the millions of other Nigerians calling on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to run for 2023 presidential election, while at a recent retreat in Lagos, the Kings in Lagos State have declared and expressed their supports for the project.

"I am sure that with the possibility of supports from other segments of the South-South and South-East of Nigeria, the consension will be giving to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu because he deserves it," Oshinyemi stated.

Also, the APC Vice Chairman, Lagos East Senatorial District, Asipa Kaoli Olatunji Olusanya, in his earlier remarks applauded the visit of SWAGA to Ayangburen Palace, noting that Ikorodu Division are loyal people and committed to the project of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to become Nigeria President in 2023.

"Looking at Nigeria's situation as at today, we should look at someone who can weld us together as a Nation, someone that can listen to us, someone that is fair, bold, courageous, and who had the pedigree and profile to perform. So, the only person that can help us to improve socially, economically, Infrastructures and issues of securities in the whole of Nigeria is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

"Don't let us fold our hands for things to degenerate and break us as a Nation, because if Nigeria breaks up or their is violence or civil war, it would spill over the whole of West African, even America will be touched. But to prevent that is for Nigerians and most especially the South West, we need to rescue our country in this eminent danger that is before us by supporting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this coming presidential election, Kaoli pleaded.

In his royal remarks, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, HRM Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, lauded SWAGA's consistency toward actualising the dream of the majority, stating that Bola Tinubu has the pedigree to rule Nigeria.

Speaking in the voice of other South West Kings, we have all come to support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2023 presidential election, and the only weapon we can use to fight and prevail is our voters card.

"The role of traditional rulers in politics should not be undermine because we are very close to the people, we knows where the shoes pitching and we know what our people want. We are not taking the position of government but we have the specific and advisory roles to play in ensuring better life for the citizenry." Oba Shotobi said.

Also, the Chairman Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, APC Chairman, Ikorodu LG, IKODASS Chairman, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo and Baaroyin of Ikorodu, Alhaji Monzor Olowosago, were equally tolled same line in calling for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to emerge President of Nigeria in 2023.

Other notable personalities in attendance were Olori Kudirat Shotobi, Chairman Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Adeola Adebisi Banjo, the Vice Chairman Ikorodu LG, Hon. (Princess) Folashade Olabanji-Oba, and other counterparts in Ikorodu Division, Hon. Adesegun Aluko, Vice Chairman Ikorodu West, Hon. Ameen Apanisile, Vice Chairman Ikorodu North, Hon. Kabir Femi, Vice Chairman Ijede, Hon. Nureni Maja-Okedina, Vice Chairman Igbogbo/ Bayeku, and Hon. Sunday Benson, Vice Chairman Imota LCDA.
