Students of Sagab College and Montessori School Ikorodu, on October 5, performed exceptionally at the school’s praise and musical concert, held inside the school premises at Solomade Estate, Ikorodu, Lagos, in commemoration of the 16th Founder's Day and 6th anniversary of Montessori School. Parents, guardians and guests were thrilled as Pupils, Students showed their music talents.

While speaking with MegaXpression Media, the School Proprietress, Dr. (Mrs) Beauty Obodo, said the aim of the concert is to show gratitude to God for all the good things He had done, stating what God has done for her and the Schools in the past.

“We believe in inculcating the right values into children and helping them to discover their talents. Sagab College is a religious-tolerant school. Music brings people together and helps to foster peace and unity. So students are trained to be their best,” she said.

"The concert was put together to praise God in different ways through music and give glory to the creator of heaven and Earth. We run a vibrant music department handled by well-qualified professionals. We have decided to use this medium show our appreciation by way of singing and playing instruments,” Mrs Obodo added.

The event later witnessed the presentation of cash gifts, prizes and Awards to outstanding and deserving members of Staff, who the Proprietress said has added values and resourceful to the school name. Special Awards were also presented to Staff that have spent five to fifteen years in the Schools, while the School’s longest serving Staff, Mrs Sola Awoyemi was also presented with a cash gift for her loyalty to the school since inception.

In her remarks, Mrs Awoyemi expressed joy and enthusiasm over honor bestowed upon her, stating that the God and Dr. Mrs Obodo have been her source of motivation in the past sixteen years.
