His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) AbdulAkeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, was on Tuesday hosted the Conference of Registrars of Polytechnic and Colleges of Technology, COREG, urging the Association to evolve means of bringing about positive changes to the tertiary institutions in Nigeria, MegaXpression Media was there.

Speaking fluently at the Obateru multi-million naira's palace in Egbin, the Chairman of COREG in Nigeria, thanked Obateru of Egbin for the kind warm reception, stating that it is a great honour to be there, not only for the visitation but also to receive the royal blessings.

The Chairman expressed commitment and determination to the Monarch over the Body to continue playing its noble role in ensuring better development in the education sector, MegaXpression Media reports.

He said it is their custom to move round Nigeria and get familiarize with the communities, noting that the coming together of COREG from various States in Nigeria is to stimulate exchange of experiences and ideas by providing a forum for discussion and of matters of common interest and arranging meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops.

"We are to encourage interchange of information and knowledge towards effective management of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology, and to cooperate with the Council of Heads of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology (COHEADS) in all matters regarding the achievement of excellent technological education in Nigeria.

In his Royal remarks, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) AbdulAkeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, appreciated each and every members of COREG, for honouring Egbin Kingdom with their visit, while applauding their leadership quality in the administration of various institution that they came from.

"I am also a product of Polytechnic, and my wife, we both attended Yabatech. This is not the first time that am hosting the COREG in my palace, I thank you all for coming, and to my Otunba Shakiru, Mr. Lanre Kuye, and Mr Hameed Aroyewun, I commend you all for your positive contributions to Egbin Kingdom," Obateru opined.

"I want to appeal once again to members of COREG to do the needful, about ensuring that the sustainability of our tertiary institutions would be beneficial to our students and Staff," Oba Oyebo added.

The visit was later followed by a photo session immediately after the vote of thanks by the Obateru Chiefs, who equally thanked the board members for the visit.
